- abe| 1 replyObama's Health and Human Services ACORN telemarketer. Uses your taxes to pay their business expenses and profits. They are calling you to try to sell you government insurance. They also take your personal information to sell to pond scum for ID THEFT / MEDICARE / MEDICAID FRAUD. Another federal goldmine of information and free money. I have heard that Reid and Pelosi get kickbacks from these thugs profits.

- AndreaJust received a call from this number stating that they were from AT&T and that my phone number was reporting that my long distance usage was reported low. The young man asked me if I was mostly using my cell to call long distance. When I replied that I was unaware that I had long distance with my company, the caller hung up. There was noise in the background, so I knew it was a call center of some sort. I tried to call the number back using my googlevoice and the company name that was given sounds like ROUGHLINK WIRELESS?? Yet, when I try to research it on Google, there is no such company.
I am not comfortable with this type of telemarketing. I will be doing extensive research to get them shut down. I registered on the DO NOT CALL list as well, but will be taking this even further.- Caller: Roughlink Wireless?
- Larry Seratt| 2 replies5-6 calls, daily. I started screaming at them when they started talking

- Slim replies to Larry Seratt| 1 replyWhat options does one have to defend themselves against intrusive callers?
• The Do Not Call list (Federal or State)
Works, but is effective against ONLY "legitimate" telemarketers. Political callers, surveys and some other callers are exempt. Scammers ignore the DNC list.
• NoMoRobo
A system offered by some telephone providers, to help automatically block robocalls. Google "nomorobo" to see if it works with your phone provider.
• Shouting, screaming, swearing at the caller
Nope. Does not stop calls. May make you hoarse, and will disturb nearby people.
• Call blocker app, device or service
Could be a good choice (even though the scammers can use fake phone numbers), and some apps are free!
Google "call blocker" for more information, or check your favorite online sales site for a list.
http://gg.gg/blockers
Your phone provider may also offer blocking services. Check their web page for information.
If you cannot use any of the above defenses, then:
• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
• Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete. http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/one-ring-cel ... ing-your-wallet
• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group. - clifford gardner302-380-4788 keeps calling and hanging up not happy at all

- mabsoutI just got a call from a lady telling me that she wants to cut my long distance calls cost in half.
I asked about her company's name she said:
"We represent AT&T" .
I asked her :"what does 'represent' mean here? She said:" we're providers".
I said:
" what does that mean..?".
I told her I don't make that many long distance calls.
She asked is that your name.
I got angry and told her I don't like to deal with people I don't know on the phone..
She got little unhappy. Then when I looked at my caller ID, it showed
"private call" then suddenly she hanged up on me before I even finish
talking with her..- Caller: 302-380-4788
- Ms. AndersonI get two or three disrupting calls a day from you and you never answer when I pick up. Quit calling me.
- Caller: unknown #302-380-4788
- ABWe get multiple calls a day. Claims to be CenturyLink and they want to switch us to a different long distance provider because we use less than $50 a month. They don'the even need to speak with the account holders as long as "you're over 18." A legitimate company should only deal with the account holder or a valid representative. Nice try, Scummy Scammerson... get a real job!
- Caller: Private Name
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Vicki SheltonI received a call from 302-380-4788 and the man on the other end claimed to be with
AT&T and that he saw that I didn't use much long distance and that he could take the taxes, surcharges, etc off of my bill if I would just answer some questions. I told him that I had free long distance and he started to argue with me. I told him that I didn't want any changes. He was adamant that it wouldn't change anything but lower my bill. I finally hung up and I knew that AT&T wouldn't harass people like that. Be aware that he was a scammer and it does show up as "Private Name" when they call.- Caller: Supposedly AT&T
- A Duncan replies to Beth RothSame here. Won't say anything just continues to call and then hangs up once you answer.
- EddieGot a call from 302-380-4788 today 12/24/14. let it ring and my call I.D. said: "private name". Yet another scammer, I'm convinced!
- Anonym replies to SlimGet the creep on the phone , talk softly, so he has to push what he's listening with real close to his head, and either discharge a blank pistol or use a police traffic whistle and give it a good blast into your mouth piece. (Wear ear protection!!!) Hopefully you'll hear someone screaming on the other end as their ear drum let's go!! Let them be a "poster person" for hearing aids!!
- Anonym12/31/14, 12:38 PM- CID showed "J2 GLOBAL COMMU ". Was a call from "AT&T".
Lower long distance rates etc. Said mail me the info. FYI >>Any time they say AT&T is going to save you some money it's B/S 99.5% of the time! Their motto is, "We've got to get it from the living, 'cause the dead don't pay!!"- Caller: AT*T (?) SCAMMER

- The AvengerA blackman called me claiming to be Verizon and they wanted to switch my long distance provider because we use less than $50 a month. I knew he was a con artist, but I wanted to play his game. He talked so sweet to me, but then he said to me I know you're busy and I don't want to take up your time and laugh at him and he caught feelings-saying why are you laughing at me? blah, blah, and blah. So, I really knew then he does not work from Verizon, because Verizon will lose their job if they get an into an argue match. So I ask him what state is he calling from, because he said he was recording the conversation. I live in Maryland. And he hanged up on me. I call his number back and got a recording that was not Verizon AND I could not get a live person. Just a recording saying press 2 to be on the Do Not Call List. What's scary he knew my full name and my home address. He asked me to verify my age and I foolishly told him my birth date. But I am not afraid. I posted my experience so you the people will not fall to this loser's scam.
