This is a recorded message from the Bruce Shuttleworth Campaign. He is running for Congress in the state of Virginia.

interesting -- gotten calls from this number in the last two days.  I live in VA (in the right district) but no message is left (I don't answer the call but am surprised that the tape doesn't play).

Hmmmm.  Why would anyone vote for someone who calls and calls--annoying enough--and then does not leave a  message?

Here we go again.  As Virginia has another primary on Tuesday June 12, we are getting multiple nuisance robo calls every day for candidate Bruce Shuttlesworth, as well as others.  The message is unfortunately the usual nonsense.  There is no mention of his credentials on his website (e.g., did he graduate high school, where?  College, where?  What is his profession?  Service time, which branch and rank?, etc.) .  The number of calls on Sunday (and Saturday) are a clear indication of total lack of respect for family quiet time on weekends.  As we are looking for a credible candidate to run against incumbent James Moran, the Shuttlesworth campaign is not making it easier and is a disappointment.

I also have piles of their campaign mail crap in my office, which will be gleefully shredded.  More political nonsense and blather.  Better to save the trees.

Frauds abound by phone where people of dubious honesty are soliciting contributions.  Surely most of the solicitors will pocket the money and disappear.  One candidate's accounts were embezzled recently of $4.2M by supposedly long time, trusted aides.  Of course, the $4.2 M has entirely disappeared.

I urge everyone to please contact their elected reps in DC by E-mail, phone, fax and blog to demand that they pass a new Do Not Call bill that stipulates severe fines and prison time for violators - no more political calls of any kind,  no solicitation of any kind, no surveys of any kind,  all callers must have numbers issued by a FCC licensed common carrier and bona fide names that are plainly visible on caller ID, no use of tie lines, no computer generated numbers, no calls on weekends, before 9:00 AM weekdays, or after 5:00 PM weekdays. The little ones go to sleep early and they are frequently awakened by late night useless calls  The FTC, which administers the DNC list is utterly useless.  It should be disbanded and replaced with real law enforcement agents who can track down these animals.

Some of these useless calls are being thwarted by call blocking technology, and just shutting off all land line phones for hours.  Family members and friends who need to contact us can use cell phones.

I live in Washington state and got a call from this number. I wonder if this congressman has his Washingtons twisted. I answered but nothing on the other end.

A political ad for a local candidate, Berna Meyer for the AV Hospital Board, and using a Delaware phone number to get this junk through.  Vote on someone else!
