I just received a call from this number - AND I DON'T HAVE A BoA ACCOUNT. All the voicemail said was that it was a call from card services (totally generic - no bank or credit-issuing institute mentioned) and that there were concerns about fraud on my card and to continue having access to my card, I needed to call them back immediately.

They claim to be Bank of America.
I do not have a Bank of America account, while other members of my family do. Certainly their accounts are not under my phone number, and I'm the only one getting these calls so it proves that is an illegitimate number.

I received the same call, referring to my corporate card.  The caller identified herself as Card Services and alerted me as to charges attempted.  I said they are fradulent and the caller said she would cancel my card and reissue it.  Subsequently, i called the BOA fraud services folks and they confirmed that they had indeed called and had canceled my card and were reissuing.

I confirmed the validity of this contact.

FYI - they called me regarding a AAA visa that I did not realize was a BOA Entity. Sometimes you apply for a card that has one name (Like Amazon or Ebay) and the bank that holds the debt is someone else. If you get a call - look on the back of all your credit cards to see which one it could be.

    Reality Check
Although it's always a good idea to return these types of calls at a known published number (such as one on your statement), this number is, in fact, legitimate.  FIA Card Services is wholly owned by Bank of America, so they are, in fact, Bank of America.  They manage a number of different card programs.

Got this annoying call at 8 AM, it woke me up.  Left a message with a vague instruction to call a 1-800 number because of fraudulent activity on my account.  I don't have a Bank of America card or account.  They didn't know my name, or account number, nor did they use the name of any bank or credit card.  HIGHLY suspicious behavior.  Then I googled the number and found this.  Left a complaint with the do not call registry.   If you really have suspicious behavior on a card, the card company at least will use your name, account number and bank.  This is an obvious bogus call.

This #3024581590 is a valid number for BoA fraud department.  They called me and left 888-436-8828 for callback.  The 888 # is the same # on their email confirming a wire transfer I had just initiated.

After a short discussion, BoA realizes their system is a little buggy, and they evidently are trying to make this whole process a little easier.

FIA Card Services is wholly owned by Bank of America.  Getting a call from FIA Card Services is the same as getting a call from Bank of America.  Of course, it's always safer to call the number on the back of your card or on your statement, but you'll discover every time that they had called you at the time you received a call from FIA Card Services.

The number is legitimate, but my recommendation is the same as a number of other people's.

I received a call from the 302 number with a request that I call back on an 877 number. In this day and age you should always be skeptical of an unsolicited call (as you apparently are since you're reading this). Call the number on the back of your card or on the official web site of your bank. (presumably BoA).

It took the BoA account representative a little time to find the note attached to my account about the call, but it was there and it was from the fraud department. He transfered me over to them and we discussed some additional changes that had occurred on my account in connection with a previous fraud issue.

For those of you that don't have a BoA credit card, I'd suggest that you use the BoA web site for contact information and call them. Explain that you've received a call from their fraud department but do not to your knowledge have an account with them. For all you or I know this may be the tip of the iceberg of an identity theft that has already been perpetrated against you. Be skeptical of the unsolicited call, it is the smart thing to do, but I don't suggest you ignore it entirely. The source is legit and they did call you for some real reason.

I am an attorney.  My law firm has received numerous telephone calls from (302) 458-1590.  The telephone number belongs to Bank of America, originating in Georgia.  The telephone number is assigned to a department of the bank that handles collection related matters.

Received a call from "Card Services" (Caller ID read "Newark, DE"; man said he was with the Fraud division of B of A, and that there was a suspicious charge on my card (he identified it via the original issuing company) from Bed, Bath and Beyond in Waterloo IA. I told him that I had not used the card in over a year and indeed had not activated the new card they'd sent me. He said B of A would cancel the card and issue another; I told him to cancel the account altogether. He agreed and disconnected. He did NOT ask for any information other than to verify my name.

I received a call from Card Services Fraud Department at (302) 458-1590.  I figured it was probably from Bank of America ("BOA") because they are the only ones that I'm aware of who refer to themselves as Card Services and not Bank of America.  Every other card refers to themselves by their name.

Long story short, I contacted BOA through their website, and they verified that both numbers are correct and that the Fraud Department was attempting to contact me.

When I called the 800 number, they asked whether I was calling from the number where they had left a message.  I said yes.  They did not request my account number although they asked me to verify other information to verify my identity.  I am satisfied that the call was legitimate.

Look people, there is a legit BOA number that is the same. That's the point, they are SPOOFING the number. This means they're calling from a separate number, but then they change the data packet for the header to APPEAR as this legit number. That's why there are some people on here with genuine, real BOA feedback. The lesson learned here is that if you do get a call, say okay thanks WITHOUT giving up your info and call BOA yourself. That way if it's legit, you're covered, and if it's not, you didn't give out any info.

I received a valid call from this number today.  It was legitimately investigating a fraudulent charge on my card.  The card is an Amex, Fidelity branded, issued by MBNA.  The callerID was MBNA but the voicemail identified it as American Express (confusing, but legitimate).
