This number called our home this evening. I answered it, and it was completely silent. After a few seconds, a recording came on and said...

"We're sorry. We have dialed the wrong number. Please disregard this call."

And of course it was a robotic voice.

Message on answer said it was Ashlie calling from the underwriting department and I could get a lower interest rate by calling an number.

I also got the robotic female voice saying my number was dialed in error and that I should disregard the call.

Same as last caller.

I also received the robotic female voice today (08-13-2014 @ 11:20 AM) saying "We're sorry. We have dialed the wrong number. Please disregard this call."  This call came to my cell phone.

called.  Did not answer.  Message left my female recording on lowering interest rates.

Robotic Female voice left voicemail that I was eligible for interest rate reduction, no company name.

Another STUPID telemarketer. BLOCKED

I said hello, robot came on, said:  We have reached this number in error, please disregard this call.  Probably some "fantastic, life changing opportunity" I missed!  Blocked it now.

I didn't call back but they probably are using this to get around the do not call list that I am on.
Probably will try to sell me something or charge me for the call.

Yeah east(sic) on your recent payment activity and balance. You are eligible for an interest rate reduction under our Debt Management Program. Your account interest rate could be reduced as low as 2%. There is additional information I need to confirm your eligibility. So, please return my call directly in the underwriting department at 1(800) 850-5159 Once again, 1(800) 850-5159 yes will be the only notice you receive this offer is only valid for 3 business days. Thank you. Bye."

Telemarketer since I have no credit card debt.


 

A robotic female voice said something about calling this name in error . Please disregard

Received a call from this #, with the this number diaked in error please disregard this call.  I figure its a precursor for a future telemarketing call.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I believe this is a scam.  I received the exact same message.  Notice how she does not tell you from what company your credit card is or what your recent activity was, or even your current interest rate.  The additional information she needs is probably what they need to steal your credit information.

Wow!  Another new and inventive way to waste my time!  I received the 'reached this number in error' robot as well.   I'm guessing when I answered with my business, name, somehow I then didn't 'qualify' for their illegal spiel.

I got a VM with the whole cardmember services rate reduction spill too.  It seems that anyone that answers gets told, "wrong number, please disregard" but if it goes to VM, they get the cardmember services recording.  Sounds like a scam to me.

I also received the same call described. This whole scam thing would be easier on decent Americans if the government just put out a list of the 5 or 6 telemarketing companies who aren't crooks.
