    Me
Another (probably spoofed) number used by the IRS scammers.  Typical recorded robocall (female "voice") stating it was the IRS and we're going to sue you.  Call this number back to get scammed.  Yeah, right.

I also got a call from this number saying the IRS is going to sue me.  In fact, the IRS recently sent me a check for an error they made processing a previous years Tax Return and in response to my 2015 return I have a certified mail receipt as proof that the IRS received it.

The IRS does not initiate communications
with a "cold call" to unsuspecting people.
    Instead
The IRS first sends a letter, always!

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

    Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

    Amused
Got home and found 3 messages on my answering machine stating that the IRS is suing me. The first one was cut off and I deleted it immediately. The second one told me to call this number. The third one gave me a different number to call.
