Called a couple of minutes ago. I realize denver is full of idiots....but come on guys, it's after 10.

Slim chance the call's actually from DENVER, but rather a disguised number to better chances of being answered. It's 10 PM, but do you really think criminals care what time it is, what day it is, or how old you are? Calls coming at unreasonable hours may be coming from the Middle East, where it's about 12 hours ahead and within business hours.

On January 14, 2013, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding billing and customer service issues. Consumers allege they are billed by Convergent Outsourcing Inc for a debt they do not owe; when they call the creditor, they get confirmation they do not owe anything. Consumers claim they receive numerous calls from Convergent Outsourcing Inc, but when they attempt to return the calls, they cannot reach an operator and must leave a message. Consumers also allege the company will not send a copy of the collection letter when requested.

If you did not hear the caller selling you a window job, you cannot make that assertion. Hence, a debt collector may as easily be spoofing a more honest and unrelated business.

Yet again apathy dissolves a person's rights and helps keep lawbreakers in business. The point of legal references is not so we can sit numbly and wait for nebulous "government" to wipe our behinds. We each have the power to defeat dirty debt collectors if we learn to use it. My past defendants found the hard way that it cost them more to fight me in court than settle quietly. I lost nothing out of pocket, they've financed my rent and groceries for years.
