- bleu| 3 repliesCollection Company of America (Phone: 303-267-4100 x 4116 Company Address: 7900 E Union Ave #300 Denver, CO 80237) keeps calling and leaving the same message asking me to call them back. Even when you tell them the person they are looking for doesn't live here they keep calling back and leave the same message. I don't know how to get them stop harassing me. I've even notified the FTC about the annoying calls.

- EC replies to bleu| 1 replyFiling a complaint with the FTC is a good start. You may want to also file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission here: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html Of course, the government being the government, things won't move very quickly with the FTC and the FCC, but they will eventually take up your complaints.
For faster results, you can send the collection agency a letter directing them to cease all communication with you and warning them that if they don't comply with your cease-communication notice, you'll pursue every applicable legal sanction against them. Be sure to send the letter via certified US Mail with a return receipt request. If they contact you more than once after receiving your cease communication letter, then they are breaking federal collection laws and subject to fines for each incident.

- jazmin replies to ECEC dont know the firstd thing to do - NOW if they owe money pay your bills on time to avoid dealing with collection agency its pretty clear ! and yeah if you owe they money of course they will not stop calling you its thier JOB!!!! lol but if a totally wrong number just advise them...
- CCAVictimThere is no being nice with these people. They have been calling my SISTER-IN-LAW, looking for my mother. My mother has absolutely nothing to do with my SIL. How in the hell they got her number, I have no idea. They shouldn't be able to call anyone that isn't directly associated with the debt they are trying to collect. I pay my bills, my SIL pays hers, so why should my SIL have to deal with their phone calls? They need tighter laws......

- MizzKittyWell, my morning started right off. Shortly after 8 a.m., I received a call from EOCCA. I missed the call; they didn't leave any message, So, I called them back and waited to speak with the "Operator", who told me that EOCCA didn't stand for anything. Now, we all know that business licenses are not issued for any old combination of letters. So I looked it up on the internet and lo and behold, found it was Credit Company of America...and got quite a bit of other information besides. You know, I understand about it being a job to be a part of collections efforts, but come on...every person working knows that if they weren't working, they would be receiving these kinds of calls, too. Everyone wants money...the lights company, the heating company, the phone company and, if you are lucky, the cable company (that one was the first one I got rid of when I lost my job), not to mention car insurance, food, the internet company, ad nauseum. You have to decide what is necessary to survival, and then do what you can on other bills Here's a hint for the original bill companies: STOP PILING UP ADDED ON LATE CHARGES, ETC. THAT MAKE THE BILL UNPAYABLE !!!
