Vicky(ie) Sanders called telling me I owe over $1,000.00 to Cash Pay. They told me they sent mail to me to my address, that I haven't lived at for 5 years. I live in Texas and they are calling me from Colorado. I told them is was not malicious that I did not respond. I never received anything. When they told me they would email me the approval to process payment, I asked them to send me documentation of the debt I owe and to whom I owe it to. The phone clicked twice and the call ended. I took care of all my outstanding payday loans two years ago. I recently ordered my credit report and Cash Pay was not on there but my other payday loans were and show satisfied. As of right now, they have not called back.

They are required by law to mail that to you (USPS delivered by the mail man), not email.  The name screams debt scammer as does your conversation with them..  Most likely those payday loan places sold your name to these crooks.  Do not let them scare you into paying one red cent until they prove to you that you owe the debt and that they have the authority to collect it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I just got a call also from this Vicki Sanders saying I had a payday loan with Suntrust bank. That I was going to spend jail time if I didn't pay it and they would get a warrant for my arrest. I immediately called Suntrust and they confirmed it is a total scam.

Total scam.  Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.  We do not have debtors prisons in the US.  Ignore and block the calls.

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I received two phone calls from this number stating I had 3 felony charges pending for failing to pay back payday loan. Advised Vicki I filed bankruptcy in 2012 and made an attempt to give her the bankruptcy number along with the attorneys name and she declined to receive the information. Vicki advised me I could not file bankruptcy on a payday loan under a LLC. This is not true. When you file Chapter 7 all debt will be discharged except for student loans, child support and tax debt. While trying to explain the bankruptcy discharge she hung up the phone. Who I contacted my bankruptcy attorney he advised me each time this person contacts me it is a $500-$800 fine. Because I filed bankruptcy the creditor can no longer contact me because the debt has been discharged.

Got a message from a 'Rebecca' was curious so I called back. Claimed 'Rebecca' was in court, and some lady said I have 3 litigations against my 'estate', told her I have no idea what she was talking about. She said, thank you and hung up!?!?

I also had a discharged bankruptcy back in 2014. Keep receiving calls regarding a criminal and felony case in regards to a pay day loan from a co I've never heard of. All my debt was discharged. I block the caller and then later I get another call from a diff number for same issue. I state I have an attorney and I ask for info to give to my attorney they hang up or put me on hold and never come back to the phone. This happened before but it was a jail arrest threat from Jack Logan.

"Rebecca" called left message. Didn't tell me the nature of the call or even mentioned my name. From what I am reading here this is a scam. I have no debt that isn't already being taken care of.

"Rebecca" called me today and left a message saying myself or my attorney needs to call them back no later than 5:00 today. I will not call them back. I have been scammed before by a company many years ago when I did have outstanding payday loan debt. They threatened that I would be arrested if I did not pay it today. I was naïve and paid it but I will not fall for it again. There are programs now that can locate someone's current address and mail them the said information. I have yet to receive that.

Rebecca left a message stating that me or my attorney needed to call her today but didn't say who the message was for. When I called back I kept getting hung up. Finally got a lady named Taylor on the phone who told me to calm down and when I said I didn't appreciate their rudeness she hung up on me.

my call is the same as everyone else is stating. I refuse to talk to them though. I have gotten multiple calls from various numbers pretty much saying the exact same thing. They all use threats, stating I only have "x" number of hours to reply or legal action will be taken. I have not had a payday loan in many years. I would say probably about 5-6. I do recall paying them off, but of course after that much time has lapsed who keeps those records?Besides, these are not the "actual" company. I think there needs to be legislation requiring ALL phone lines be registred. I truly believe these are disposable phones or better yet spoofed numbers. They are not traceable and the "businesses" are not legit. I will be filing yet another complaint today. However, I will continue doing it until there is legislation that protects us from these jerks! No one should have the right to use scare tactics to steal your money!

This is a scam.  Each message left never mentioned the name of the person they were trying to call and when I called back and refused to give my name the so called telephone operator became defensive and rude (ghetto too!) and hung up.  They said they were with litigation services.  Don't give these people any information.  If I had more time I would make it my hobby to go after them and shut them down legally.

I had a touch of ghetto-ism and decided to call them incessantly all morning.  They are so irritated-they have called me everything but a child of God.  Hopefully this will convince them to take me off the calling list.  I also added that poor Rebecca is overworked and under paid.  All in agreement say "yea".

    Annoyed at being harrassed
Same thing as everyone else. I have 3 felonies pending and I will be arrested if I dont take care of it today. If ask questions, they dodge them or make some crazy stuff up. And told me if I contact the original company that has the compliant against me more charges will be brought upon me. Really, just for calling them to discuss this. And what lawyer just goes by Miss Rebecca. Such a scam. My lawyer told me to tell her if they call back again, cuz they can be fined if contacted after bankruptcy is discharged.
