If this is the Denver Post, which sounds right to me, I'm getting your paper, but won't be for long if you don't stop harassing me.

I am using call blocking to end this. Some of you might want to look into this. :)

Just last week I signed up for the Denver Post at a local supermarket. Today I received a phone call from the above number. They didn't leave a message and I didn't know who it was until I googled the number. I'm guessing that they are just confirming my subscription. I'll answer the next time they call and post the reason for the call.

I could understand if my service was up, or almost up. BUT - I signed up in October for 1 year. It's only April. They started calling me in freaking DECEMBER. So for those of you on your high horse saying it's just them trying to get you to renew, you're full of crap. Stop being pompous jerks and saying we didn't read our contracts.

Stop posting message.  Without a doubt, you work for the news agency.

First off, I never signed a contract that said what you claim, I paid for a subscription with a little boy in my neighborhood and I still have the one and only postcard sized form he gave me that I signed.

Secondly, they called me within a week of me subscribing and have called daily since.  They never leave voice mails, nor do they say anything when I answer their calls.

If they want my business, they need to let me know who they are and what they want when they call.  Because of this shady practice, I will not be renewing my subscription.

Now, tell your supervisor to have your company fix its business practices before you come back here posting this rubbish on consumer boards.  Your post makes this whole practice even more frustrating.  Treating consumers like we're stupid, shame on you.

They call multiple numbers and talk with the one who picks up first. That's why the hangup. I blocked the number.

Just like Julie, I'm receiving calls on my cell on a daily basis and no message ever left.  I ttried to call the number and received a recording stating that it was from The Denver Post Customer Service Dept. and that the number was not set up to receive calls.

Tried their Customer Service 800 number and was on hold for over fifteen minutes.

Signed up for an "online" version of the Denver Post, last weekend, at a King Sooper.... Thought it would be nice to have the coupons there to just print as I need... and to have the "non  print" version, instead of the piles that we just throw out every time we "spring clean" ...  But because of these repeated calls... no message, no name on Caller ID, etc.  I am cancelling my subscription... I did not sign up to be harassed, period.  If they want loyal customers, once they have signed us up... LEAVE US ALONE.  I gave permission for contact through Email...   Not Phone.  And I am Pissed that I was stupid enough to give my cell #....   Never Again.

Seriously - if you can't leave a message then it's not a real call.  If you want my husband to renew his Post subscription LEAVE A FRICKEN MESSAGE!!  He only gets the Post because the Camera has such a joke of a sport section but he can get his sports online if you keep calling and don't have the decency to leave a message!

Of course,  you have to wait on hold for 20 minutes to even get to an operator, much less deal with them to get them to stop calling.
If you DO have a subscription and they're calling for you to renew it, tell them that the reason you WONT is because of all of the annoying calls.  I just canceled mine because this isn't the first time I've asked them to stop calling.

calls but does not leave a message.  I have never had any business relationship with Rocky Mountain News or the Denver News Agency.  I will report this to the Attorney General if the calls do not stop.  I am on the do not call list.

Our subscription has expired because they did not have the decency to remind us to renew in a timely fashion.  (Literally a week before it expired I got a notice.)  The call popped up on my cell as "suspected spam" so I screamed very loudly into the phone repeatedly.  And someone answered so I continued screaming.  They hung up on me....something tells me they won't be calling again :)

Thank you for the information, Richie! I'm on hold with the newspaper company right now... I am going to ask them to stop calling me 3+ times a day, not leaving messages, after I cancelled my subscription 2 months ago! Frustrating!!!
