unknown caller no answer

Debt collector must be for 10 year old+ debt. Asking for a name I haven't heard in a long time.

Received call 1:00 PM from this number. Caller ID says UNKNOWN NAME. Web research shows it is a business landline with Verizon provider coming from Miami FL. My credit report is clean. I have no loans or mortgages. Why they would call me is a mystery. I do not pick up calls form Unknown Callers.

This company, Convergent Outsourcing (855-343-7888), calls 3x per day, around 10:30 in the morning, around noon and then at 6:15 PM - what is this, breakfast lunch and dinner? The message they leave (they don't know how to leave a message as only a portion of it is ever on my voicemail recording) asks for someone with the same name as me - I happen to have a very common Jane Doe type name so I believe they are on a fishing expedition. I do not owe anyone anything so outsource this convergence.

Received call from this number saying they are a debt collector. We are on the do not call list. What is the call about

You said they were a debt collector so it really either is a debt collector or a scammer trying to make you believe you owe them for a debt. So that is what the call is about. They also could be seeking a relative or someone who used you as a reference but in that case they could not say it was a debt collection call.

BTW, debt collection calls are exempt from screening against the DNC list before calling. They have their own set of rules encoded in 15 USC 1692 (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) to follow.

I get a call at least once per day. I started answering the unknown or private caller. The call ends before someone or a recording answers. One time I called back and the guy thought he called me. I don't know the person he asked for. Besides, I'm from a different country with only one known aunt and two cousins here. I suspect he's looking for the person who used to own my phone number.
