Claimed to be an agent of the IRS. Said there was a warrant for my arrest!  I laughed and told them I was reporting the number.

They called and also told me they were from the US treasury department and had a warrant for my arrest..I hung up on them and got a call few min later caller ID should police department but they didn't leave a message. .

Caller said he was from the Treasury and I should call him, otherwise this would be a second refusal to appear before a judge and considered a felony! You know this is a scam but don't let your curiosity get the best of you. If you call it could end up being an expensive long distance call charged to your account or even worse. DO NOT RETURN CALL.

Got a call from rep calling himself "Daniel" and gave badge #117296. Said he was from the US Dept of Treasury calling me about an outstanding tax balance from 2012. Said there was a warrant for my arrest and I would be arrested in the next 45 mins for tax evasion and would stay in jail for 3 years!! I told him I owe nothing and the IRS would not call anyone but instead send an official letter. I told him I knew this was a scam b/c I heard about it on the news! He immediately hung up......FRAUD!!!

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
