I am a Mary Kay Independent Sales Consultant and I received a text from 307-222-8670 wanting to place a Mary Kay order. I referred her, Nicole Meyer, to my website and told her she could place her order there and submit payment. She said she was having trouble placing an order online and wanted me to email her, nicolemeyer03@live.com, right away so she could email me get the order in. I few weeks back I received an email from my Regional Sales Director about scams and described this situation to a tee. Of course I sent them a strongly worded email after I discovered what this was. I didn't not fall for it and neither should anyone else so I thought I would post this and save someone esle some trouble.

They will send you a text and ask you to email them back. Then they want to email the order to you, pay with a money order or cashiers check, they send you an amount over the product price and ask you to wire the overage money to them. The check/money order will not clear and you will be on the hook with your bank.

Don't fall for it!

This (literally) just happened to me. Thank you so much for reporting this.  Here is the conversation:

307-222-8670-  Hi, My name is Nicole Meyer i want you to assist me in placing some MaryKay  products for today, i want you to email me nicolemeyer03@live.com so i can email you back with my order list

Me- Hey Nicole! How did you hear about me? I'd love to help you

307-222-8670- I was surfing on marykay site and your page pop up and i had to contact you so you can assist me so please kindly email me now so i can reply you back with my order list so you can assist me...

Me- I'm sorry, I don't conduct my business this way.

307-222-8670- Ok thank you bye

Me- You are also reported to our legal department at Mk headquarters. Please do not contact me further

I hope this can help someone not lose money from a scammer.

I got a text from the same person at 5 this morning I knew it was a scam so I did not reply. A few months ago I got the same kind of text from a different number mad lady that came back to Texas but my husband looked into it and the lady was actually fro  Jamaica. Do not reply to these people they are scammers.

yup, just had the same thing happen not 30 minutes ago.  forward to mklegal.

I am a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant too and this lady "Nicole Meyers" has been texting me from this number at ungodly hours and emailing me from nicolemeyer03@live.com as well trying to get me to place her order and ship it to "her cousin" in Texas. I reported it to MK legal department and they told me this kind of fraud has been happening a lot to beauty consultants and that I should report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.

Same thing happened to me two days ago.  Thank goodness for this post!!  You saved me!  In the email that she sent me, she said that she was deaf and so she had to do things via rep.  Watch yourselves ladies!
