They threaten you with charges

Is this legit?  They called me and asked for someone else's name and it was a recording threatening charges??

This is a common ploy used by debt collectors who use unethical and illegal business practices.  They do this to frighten people to pay money for a debt that cannot be collected or is bogus to begin with.  I ran this phone number through an app on my phone to find it is a debt collection scam.  It could also be the IRS scam as tax season is around the corner.  Do not engage in conversation with them.  If they continue to call, you may want to file a report.

SCAM.  They don't identify what company they're calling from so you know that it's B.S.  They're just trying to collect your data (i.e. Social Security number, etc.) to steal your identity.  Don't answer/give them any information.

it's been weeks, these people keep calling my phone and my parents phones. I blocked one of their numbers, but they must have other locations or lines they call from, because now a different number is calling me and 'informing' me of the same [***] SCAM

National Information Center Scam

Calls from a variety of numbers and uses different CIDs including National Information Center.  Ignore their calls and block them.

Report them:

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Please note that "Archway Holdings "  and "Hydra Financial" are common phantom or zombie creditors that the debt scammers often use.

Yep. They're trying their old scam. Asking for my former name - so I know it hasn't stopped. We'll see if they call me repeatedly. This is the first time they've contacted me and left a message on my new (as of 2015) cell number. The same old verbiage - electronic voice message  about a claim filed against me that will be served at my home or work, blah blah blah. It ends here.

Oh, by the way - I didn't answer the call. I never do.

PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has been going on for 2 years now. Someone has to do something to stop they theives. these people (and I'm putting it nicely) are bottom feeding, scum bag old pay day loan and other bill collectors that are breaking the law every time they pick up the phone. STOP IT ALREADY MAN!!!

Just received a call from the same number- automated message about a debt - provides a case number then hangs up.

Has anybody gotten the name of this company yet? As usual they refuse to leave in there illegal messages.

Quite possible they haven't even decided which one to make up or found to try and use. You can't expect a con artist to be too far ahead in planning. The intent is hopefully scary enough so you'll accommodate them without questions. That's a big part of why that often turns hostile, vulgar, absurb, or them hanging up on you. No messages are left since a live voice is more desirable to rip you off.

They ve just called me and told about charges.. I've been living abroad and for 2 months only I've been in States. It's so ridiculous.

I'm still waiting for them to show up and serve me.............. Yeah Right.....

I have received calls from this # and others claiming they are looking for someone named Eliza Johnson who owes money. This has been going on for 2-3 years. In the beginning I told them this was not her # but they keep calling. This caller today said if I didn't call today I would be forfeiting my right to deal with the issue outside my county and allowing them to serve me papers at my place of employment. Interesting that there was no mention of who their client is or what county they are talking about. It is a total scam. I just ignore the calls now.

Oh, they wanted me to call them back and verify my address. Yeah......they can hold their breath.

This number keeps calling leaving automated message regarding a filed complaint,  when you call back you get left on hold, they have called multiple times

Scum of the earth

They called today and many other days saying the same thing.  The call was for my daughter, but I am so tired of the calls. I called the number back and some lady answered.  I told her I knew they were a scam and to stop calling or I would call the authorities. She said it wasn't a scam, but I know it was. I told her that I knew it was and she hung up on me because I yelled at her.   Several years ago they tried this scam on my daughter and we took money to a Walmart to western union it to a number because it scared my daughter.  I thought about it more after the money was sent.  Called and talked to western union and they said it was a scam.  We were lucky back then.  Got the money back.  I am so sick of these people trying to use scare tactics on innocent people. There should be a way to stop these people.
