They call me!!! Who is it?? Please tell me!

Unknown - no message left.

Got this call right after requesting a quote from carsdirect.com, then got a restricted call, and right after that the infamous 408-228-0163.  Freaking idiots...

Got the same call after giving my number to Carsdirect.com

Supposedly a call from smartusa with whom I have a reservation, to "confirm" I don't want air conditioning.

Researched these people.  Caller indicated I had inquired via the internet about a new Acura and someone from Gold Coast Acura would be contacting me by the end of the day.  Called their customer service.  They assured me they called only after legitimate requests were made for information.  They provided my old address and a non-existant e-mial address unless it's a spam address.

Got the same call a Progressive Insurance claims adjuster gave my number to CARS.Com, supposedly to help me find a car after mine was totaled. First came the 1-310-280-4000 call, then the restricted call. The lesson learned is: don't give your cell or phone number to these internet car sales sites, they "spam" us with phone calls instead of emails... it's disgusting. In the end, I went out to a car lot and bought my car the old fashioned way.

I called them back & they said they were justified because a Nate Morrison requested information from my phone. This is IMPOSSIBLE because I am the only one that uses my phone-and I DO NOT know any Nates ANY Morrisions OR any Nate Morrison.I think they are lying about it but they did say they would take my number off their list. I told them if they did not then I would start calling them and hanging up & wasting their time and would ask all of the people who are getting the same irritating calls to do the same! Good luck everyone-Better call them and get your number off their list. (under my breath "the jerks")

WOW! Thanks everyone! I was freaking out, I received calls from these people at 8:00 this morning! Then received calls from various dealers saying I was interested in a Honda...I was trying to get a quote from Progressive a few days ago, so this is a bit comforting!

That number is CarsDirect.com - when you request information in regards to a vehicle they give you a call, if you put in your number. Sometimes unfortunately people give wrong numbers. Please just let them know. I did and they took me off their calling list.

The 408 number has nothing to do with CarsDirect.com. They are located in the Southbay.

Carsdirect.com does not have a list. When people go on to the website and input their number they give them a call. Again sometimes people give wrong numbers. Just request to be taken off. They are not telemarketers. They will delete the request that has your number.

Got a call today claiming I had requested a price quote on a land Rover.  This is BS as I hate cars and would never ask for such a thing. They called my cell phone, too, so the number isn't listed.  I suspect they use a war dialer and are just phone spammers, who are even more evil than email spammers.

I got call from this nos and 310-578-4818 and Ijust press talk and off on them.  Since last few months these and other no number provided out of area calls have become a total nuisance. No messages left and no- one talks if we do pick up. so now we never pick up phone calls from unknown callers even at the cost of missing some important job related calls.

Cell phone call. I answered it and it went into the weird tones like a wrong number, (example: da, da duhhhhh increasing in pitch and tone). I'll forward to the FCC since my number is on the "No Solicitations List".

Got repeated calls from 310-280-4000.  They left messages saying carsdirect.com and that I had requested a quote.  After ignoring several messages, I called them back from a landline at work and told them they were calling my cellphone in error.  They asked for that number and said they would remove it from their system.  After that I have continued to get calls.

Yes, this is a call from carsdirect.com I just call to find a good price on the web on a new vehicle and a few hours later i got the call from them. They just checking to see if the number is a good one. But they are fine.

they said they were looking for someone named george,
but then apologized.  I hope they don't keep calling.

This is SMART USA. call is ligit. They send me a refund check to the wrong address. I corrected it and will get a new check soon
