received a text from this number with a simplex code.it said the cc code is valid for 5 minutes. also almost immediately received a call from an unknown caller and a voice mail with an automated voice repeating the code number.15 minutes later my credit card company called to question two transactions which turned out to be fraudulent.heads up people!

Got a text from this number MARL code:5550 Valid for 5 Minutes.  Then another from 312-376-8870 MARL code:5550. Valid for 3 minutes.

I also received a text message and phone and saying the 4 number of code on each activity.
I am afraid of being ripped off.

I also recieved a call from this number and a text with a voicemail repeating same verification code as text. I'm watching to be sure no unauthorized transactions .Thank you for the heads up.

Most likely it is a scammer who is trying to open an account for something and used your number for a verification code to be sent to. Some scammers that have "acquired" enough info to know what Bank or Credit Card you have, then call you about a fraudulent transaction to convince you to give them your personal info.
Never trust a caller to be whom they claim, always call back from a known published number to find out.
