- AndyGUYS, you are thinking about this all wrong. This "service" is using a computer to dial our numbers and to deliver a prerecorded message without our prior consent. That's a violation of federal law. (see http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode ... 27----000-.html )
The law in question says that we are each entitled to $500 from these schmucks for each call they make to us. And that's only if they are ignorant of the law. If they know they're breaking it (which they certainly do), the damages are tripled. (To get this money, we need to sue in small claims court.)
I've gotten one call from them at home and one (just now) on my cell phone. That's $3,000 they owe me.
If anyone gets some reliable contact info for them, please post it here, and also e-mail me at andy (at) tochangeit (dot) com Thanks!- Caller: "Carpet Care"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Andy replies to KTM| 1 replyGood idea. But: the exchange is 405, not 450. It's in L.A. zip code 90025, not Santa Monica.
Also, there's no "carpet care" at 420 Broadway. There's a "Comfort Care" there, though.
Can anyone else savvy at tracking down this sort of info try again? Thanks! - PI called the 818-534-6825. Some Mexican guys picked up and confirmed they cleaned carpets. But wouldn't tell me their company name.
Someone needs to find out who they are working for.
At least I can crank call them now. - jmmmm| 2 repliesAbout 1:10PM a buddy of mine got a call from these guys on his Iphone. I'd gotten the same one the day before, and right as it rang and he said "I don't know anyone in 310" I caid "Carpet cleaning!" Sure enough, we compared call histories and it's the same number.
Someone needs to start subscribing that 818 number to as many opt-in lists as possible. Also, we need to book them into as many dead-end locations as possible as Mike did, to eat up their profits. (Gas is expensive in Cali, you know).- Caller: n/a

- P replies to jmmmm| 1 replyYou guys think they are actually a carpet cleaning company or they might be looking to do something else.
No way would a company continue to do this. They would need to use a fake name, hide their number, etc - dmg replies to PIve been getting these annoying calls as well and they leave no message and the signal is always busy. How did they get my number. I never use it.
- jmmmmIt looks like the phone system is about to become more like email -- numbers get harvested, and the source obfuscated. In this case the caller ID has been spoofed.

This is likely is a shady operation at best, run by some organization using illegal immigrant labor and working entirely under the table. They are probably all set up to disappear and then pop up again somewhere else when the heat gets turned on. - FLjust got a call from that number today too!!

- JaeI just reported this number to the Do Not Call Registry as violating the law. Hopefully the local police and FCC will figure out who these people are and stop them from running up people's cell minutes. I think there is a HUGE fine for violating the Do Not Call Registry.
- Caller: some carpet cleaning company

- Anonymditto on the above experiences. amazing that we all found this place and there's posting so recently.

- mike333they're hip to it now but that hasn't stopped me from harrasing them their scam is coming to an end at least w/ this # but run it up sometimes you need fire to put one out....
- KathI had the same experience on 2/29 at 11:55am. I just called that 818 number people have been listing and he claims he doesnt know anything about carpet cleaning, but I don't believe him. He was talking to someone else (in the car?) at the same time.
We all need to report this to the DoNotCall registry and to the FCC. Then maybe file a class action law suit...- Caller: Diane - Carpet Cleaning
