I answered the call and was told that I had made it to the final round of a sweepstakes that I was entered into on behalf of my bank.  When I told her that I wanted to know what bank, she hung up on me.

I received a call from 310-540-8969 on 4/17/13. The young lady informed me that I would be entered in The Publishers Clearing House to win 25,000. I was not asked any personal questions ,or asked to send money. Have I any reason to be concerned ?

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize – DON’T!  It’s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it’s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON’T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Yeah I just received a call from who ever this person is, young sounding lady, telling me i was entered into a sweepstakes on the behalf of my bank, etc.  I knew it was fake, but they didn't ask for any of my personal info.  Which was kind of odd.

Just received a call from this number looking for me and when I told them it was me their looking for the lady was talking and the voice was fading until I lost her. Called them back to know why they called, they didn't answer my call. Weird.

Just received a call from this number and they sat in silence for about 5 seconds before they hung up... I could tell somebody was there because I could hear muffled talking in the background. WEIRD.
