Got a note on my 250,000 mile car if I wanted to sell it.. signed beverly.. who the heck wants to buy my car! Scam for sure..

My note said "Hi....  .     .             Wondering if you might be interested in selling your car.     1.310.982.2630     Thank.you Beverly Hm"      After seeing the other posts on this number, I think this these notes are photocopies. None of the ink is bleeding through to the back of the paper. Definitely a scam.

I got the same "photocopied note" from Beverly HM as well. 1.310.982.2630. I texted back, but did not get a reply.

Received same note near LACMA, same thought with ink not bleeding through. Nice try, but also sad to mislead people into thinking it is indeed a personal note at first sight.

Got the same message as everyone else. Had parked my car at The Grove and found this note when I returned.

Got the same photocopied note tonight from 1.310.982.2630 from Beverly HM. Note was left in Santa Monica in a parking lot off of Main St.

Got a note from this number from Beverly HM in Venice Beach Parking lot. This was a photocopy too!

Got the same note on Abbot Kinney in Venice. It seemed weird because it's not hard to find good used cars like mine. Why solicit a stranger for his car, when there's lots of people trying to sell the same car?

And, although the note is made to look like it was handwritten on the spot, it has a perfectly straight line underling the phone number. Who carries a ruler around with them, when they're writing notes to leave on a car in the street? That was the thing that made me think it was a fake note, made to look like it was handwritten on the spot. Then I realized it was photocopied.

As I drove down the street, I saw that just about every car had one. I don't think it's a scam though. I think it's probably an ad for something or some sort of PR campaign. But I don't want to call the number to find out, because I don't want some marketing agency to have my phone number.

P.S. Reverse lookup says it's a Sprint Mobile number in San Pedro.

As I thought, it's a marketing campaign. Some company that helps people sell their cars. So when they say, "Wondering if you might be interested in selling your car," they don't mean that they want to buy it, but that they want to help you sell it, if you're selling.

On second thought, I can't find this Beverly Hills Marketing company online. At least, not one that says anything about helping people sell cars. So I think it may just be a scheme to get your phone number on a list to be used for future marketing purposes.

Just got the same note on my car in my driveway in West LA.  Looked to see if other cars had same, but didn't see any other notes.  Figured it wasn't right.

Have not received a phone call yet as far as I know, but found same note, signed by Beverly, on my Subaru on 4/28/2012. Person is now operating in Culver City. Beware it's most likely a scam!

Got the same note at work parking lot in Marina Del Rey on Friday afternoon.  My first thought was that it was some kind of scam, since my car as a used car would be pricey.  But I was fooled by the handwriting, too.

Got the same note on my car this morning in Los Feliz with same number as people are talking about above with the same.  The note looks photocopied since there aren't any "pressure marks" from writing with a ballpoint type pen, and the lines are too thick to be a ballpoint anyway, and a sharpie would bleed thru, so I figured it was some scheme or other as well, but I've not called the number or otherwise confirmed that in any way.

Was nailed with the same note on my junker in West Culver yesterday: "Hey wanna sell your car? 310-982-2630 Cheers Beverly H.M."  The handwriting on the note was much more legible than a hastily written note. They even popped the gas cap and left it open, but no gas seemed to be gone.

Same note in Palms.  There were others lying around the area.

Got a note on my car too.  But it was more like a brochure and it had a bunch of info on aftermarket Chrysler performance parts.  The website was http://www.chrysler300grill.com, but there was no email address.  Just this phone number.

This number called me twice this morning in about a 2 hour period.  I didn't pick up, and now after reading these reports it sounds like someone not worth dealing with anyway.
