With elections coming up, these political surveys have become quite common. I used to just hang up, but I started listening to them more in the last month and they often seem to have a similar issue. They ask about demographics, your normal political leanings, and then whether you David certain specific politicians. However, there have been some like this call from Crossings Research, which seem to add statements followed by asking if it makes you or more or less likely to vote for your preferred candidate. The problem is that the statements are often untrue or so out of context that it could very well affect your opinion if you didn't know better.

By all means, take the survey, but please research the claims made. The way they worded the statements about recent "middle class" tax cuts and the costs for proposed 'medicare-for-all' plans were based on bad reports that didnt tell enough of the story to be credible.

I had commented elsewhere on other survey calls, but I don't know what these calls are meant to do. Are they genuinely looking for opinions? Are they research from their respective political campaigns to find out which message is most effective? Are they thinly veiled campaign campaign calls to get you to change your mind?
