Amy wanting me to take a short survey. I hung up. I am also on the Do Not Call List, but it appears that companies doing surveys are exempt to the List. I call the number back (might not be a good Idea) and reached a automated service stating that the time for the survey had passed (about 15 min by the way since they called me) and suggested that if I did not want any more calles to press 2 ,, will see if that stops anything.  This all is very bothersome since they are calling my cellphone. I then entered the number into my contacts list and blocked the number.

I just got one of these calls on my cell. I didn't answer it as I was out of the room.

I googled the number and found this page. Since they called my google voice number, it's an easy thing to block that number forever: http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=115089

replied with text message: "Your contact with xxx-xxx-xxxx was unsolicited and in violation of the national and Texas Do Not Call registries.  Remove this number from your call list.  Any further contact will be viewed as harassment/"

I too have been contacted by this number...I do not answer a number not in my phone book...they did not leave a message...Hasta La Vista Baby!

Just got a phone call from this number.  The do not call list is worthless.   I just make it a habit not to answer any number I do not know!

I have received several of these calls and I do not answer them. also got a call from 312-765-7460 which is probably same people.

Didn't recognize the number. Didn't bother answering. Just another stupid spam phone call which I find annoying. Am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

I accidently answered got the recording about a survey and immediately hung up.  My cell phones and home phone is on the do not call list and it don't do much good.  I relisted all my numbers and after 31 days they better look out I am starting to keep a log of these numbers and will report them after my 31 days are up.  We never had this problem until last yr. and we have had the same phone numbers for years.

I am on the do not call list and still receiving calls from solicitors.  I am the one that pays the phone bill services and should not have to tolerate the solicitors that call my number.   Whether it be charity or credit,political etc.  The advertisement of all these callers should be on thru TV or newspapers in which that gives the consumers a choice to watch or read.  We the consumers should not have to worry about answering the phone.

As I was reading all these posts (and I haven't gotten past page 2 yet), I have to agree with Deb--I wonder if all these calls to cell phones came about because a few weeks back there was another one of those "Email alert"s about telemarketers getting the right to call your cell phone unless you put your phone on the "Do not call" list. It was an old scare email (confirmed by Snopes), but I'm wondering if it was a phishing site, even though the number looked legit. I was amazed at the number of posts on here from people having their cell phone called.
Our call came into our landline today, but did not say Wireless Caller. I just thought, I don't know anyone who would be calling me from Chicago. My attitude is, If it's legit, they'll leave a message, and I can call back. Bottom line: Don't answer unless you know who's calling. (Bless Caller-ID.)

Will you people please stop mentioning the Do-Not-Call List.

1. The Do-Not-Call List does not apply to charities. It should, and you should write to your Congressman to get the exemptions for charities removed. It's annoying, and most of that money goes to the telemarketers, reducing the total that all charities get.

This is an election year. Ask your Congressman and Senator when they're campaigning. If they don't agree, post their position on local web sites.

2. All other telemarketers are scam artists who are doing it to commit fraud, so why should they care about breaking another law?

3. While it doesn't eliminate TM calls, the DNC list does significantly reduce them.

4. The problem is that the federal government has been very lax with enforcement.
