If they were calling about Oklahoma taxes, why would they be calling from Illinois? Definite proof of a scam, I would say.

Both love to sue people illegally.

And anyone getting calls about taxes due would have received plenty of mail long before it escalated to a debt collector.

not i scam i owe Oklahoma state back taxes, its the law firm they use to collect, Oklahoma uses an out of state collector. They are legitimate, now whether you owe the taxes or not you will have to get with the state that referred to the law firm

They followed the rules as far as contacting... just didn't contact anyone associated with debtor.

Called them back after they left a voicemail, and they stated that I owed the Boulder County courthouse from something in 2016. Sounded odd as this was the first time I'd heard of it. Gave the courthouse a call and I have no outstanding debts.
