Caller is the ABA - American Bar Association

The caller ID says "Bar Association", but I believe it is a solicitor who is not associated with the American Bar Association. Just like the solicitors who say they are calling from Google, but are not affiliated with Google. They called our law office today. It sounded like a solicitor with the noise in the background. They asked to speak with one of our attorneys by name. I said the attorney was unavailable and asked to take a message, but the caller declined and said she'll call again.

I had the same response as cpepsi, but I insisted that the caller tell me what the call was regarding.  She stated that they were calling about a trial offer.  I informed her that my attorney was already a member of the American Bar Association.  She said thank you and hung up.  I agree that it sounds like a solicitor because the ABA sends their dues and renewals through the mail.  Also, anytime the ABA has specials for insurance and the like, those are also sent through the mail.

I believe this is from the American Bar Association (ABA). They have been calling my house repeatedly at about the same time every year for the past four years. They use the 312 area code with a 219 prefix (or 588 in this case). They will call about 20-30 times over a 3 month period and then stop, but then a year later it happens all over again. I have probably answered about 50 times from all of their numbers, but there is never anyone on the other end. I think they are trying to contact a lawyer.
