    It's Harris and Harris. It's a collection call from a law firm/debt collector for medical bills for Unity. I've never been there and have no bill, but they keep calling. They are very rude. I blocked the number. It's the easiest solution.

    Getting calls saying I owe for medical bills that I am paying to the hospital.  I tell them this and they say I have to pay them it does not count if I pay the hospital.  Very rude people, won't give them a dime.

    They call several times a week from different numbers, never leave a message. I have no medical bills, have never been sick. Don’t know why they are calling.

    Yep, Harris and Harris.  Robo calls.  "This is Harris and Harris.  We are a debt collector, please call us .....
    They do not say who they are trying to reach and are asking me to call them back on my dime,  I've blocked their calls at this point.  Google says they are a real company, but sounds more like a phishing attempt to me.  Just purchased a house and had my credit scores checked.  (over 800).
    I have no known bills outstanding and nothing that shows up on my report.

    Harris & Harris is a very real bad debt collection company. Use scare tactics to get you to pay without giving much information. They don’t do anything via mail. They claimed they sent us copies of statements, letters and notices for months but in fact, our first notice was summons to small claims court for a 2,000.00 bill that was 2 years old!  We had 30 days to pay. So we received several harassing phone calls with no information. Waited to receive information but 30 days later received court summons instead.

    So what did you do?  Ignore the summons?  Contact a consumer attorney to counter sue them for FDCPA violations?  Your post leaves a lot out.  If this is actual consumer debt then they are required to send you a dunning letter in the mail within 5 days of first contact.  You should have then immediately sent them a debt validation request by certified, return receipt mail.  It sounds as if you have done nothing to help yourself by using the law to your advantage.

    If you would like to know how to make the calls stop permanently, as well as learn what agencies to report them to and even how to make them pay you for the harassment, please read my post here and follow the directions:   https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-312-423-7525#p1263148729726126432

    Make sure you show up in court now that you have received a summons.  You will need to learn your rights and probably obtain legal counsel to assist you.  There are many consumer attorneys who will help on a contingency basis.  You need to demand that this company provide proof you owe the bill and that they have a legal right to collect on it.

    Not sure why you expect a 2 y/o bill to go uncollected.  You should probably contact the original creditor to determine who the bill was given to for collection to find out if this is the correct company and if this company is collecting as a third party collector of for themselves after purchasing the debt from the original creditor. It makes a difference as to how you should proceed and whether you can counter-sue for FDCPA violations;

    Quite frankly, "Becky", I don't believe a word in your post. Why don't we start with the simple stuff. Give us the name of the judge who signed your summons. We'll take it from there.
    We'll be waiting...

    Anyone can be sued.  The question is what would they then get which would be nothing.  Your disability cannot be garnished unless it is for taxes, student loans, and certain court ordered payments such as child support.  The point is that you should be reading what I posted about this outfit and using that information to prevent it from even going that far.
