Calls all the time and never leaves a message. Getting tired of this crap. I don't pick up calls that I don't know who's calling. They can call until the phone quits working.

Ditto, they call about 6 times a day and when I finally did answer it, no one was there.

Same here, they call and call but when I finally answered no one on the line.
Also call from 312-423-7566, never leave a message and says Harris County on caller ID but number comes back to somewhere in Illinois near Chicago

312-423-7525 calls and it's an automated voice saying it's Henry Hoover almost every day on voicemail as I don't answer calls from unknown numbers.

Someone from this number just called my cell, said she was from "Harris & Harris" and asked me to give her the last four digits of my social security number to "verify".  HAHAHAHA.   I asked her what it was about and she just repeated that I needed to give her my social.  Ridiculous.  Do people fall for this stuff???

Calls and leaves a message that they are a debt collector. When I return the call they answer, verified my number, put me on hold and then the line goes dead.

Called saying they were Harris and Harris  wanting to collect on a debt that I am paying to the hospital itself.  They told me those payments don't count I have to pay them in order to payoff this debt.  Also they were calling my home phone and cell phone at the same time.

Of course those payments count.  They are simply worried that they won't get their commission on them.  This is a well known criminal bunch of lawyers out of Chicago.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Harris &Harris called my family member's landline today.  A recording. You forgot another group to report to: Federal Trade Commission. Use "Complaint Assistant" because they also violated the Do Not Call Registry.

No, I did not forget that and no they did not violate the two enabling laws that established the Do Not Call Registry.  This is something you should have known had you read the information at the DNC list (you can read can't you?).

My dad has gotten many calls from Harris & Harris according to his CID, either from (312) 423–7595 or (312) 345-1569. No message is ever left. My dad is a stroke patient, has trouble speaking & is partially deaf, rarely answers the phso I always check his answering machine & CID for anything important. I also take care of all his business for him, make sure his bills are paid, etc. so I know for sure he doesn’t owe any past due amounts. He lives in assisted living for seniors & uses a wheelchair. Seniors are easy prey for scammers., trying to take them for everything financially.

Well that problem is easily solved.

I reported back in July that my dad is receiving calls from Harris & Harris at (312) 348-1584, (312) 423–7595, leaving messages for him to call them.  As I stated in my last post that my dad is a stroke patient, in a wheelchair, & in poor health. I take care of all his business, so I called one of the numbers & requested that they remove my dad’s number from their call list because of his illness. The rep checked the number, said   it belongs to my dad’s name & that she’ll remove it. I told her I’m his daughter & take care of all his business, check his answering machine messages. We’ll see if his number gets removed. I’ll be calling back for sure if he gets more calls.
