When he called he used my exact name also.....

Called 1/29.  Didn't leave a message.  REverse info didn't list names, just that it is in Detroit.  Called back they say the numer is not in service.

I have received several hang up calls from this number.  I would like it to stop.  I know no one from this number or area.

I just got a call from this number also. The guy who definitely sounds like he's black (I'm black so please take no offense) Just called as soon as I said hello he asked for me by my last name. I of course not knowing who it was immediately said no.  He then asked me what my zip code was.........when I asked why the call dropped.  I'm not sure what's going on but it definitely seems like a scam.  If anyone finds a way to track down this SOB making prank calls please post it as I will do the same.

Received call from this number, said from Detroit Police, looking for donations.....Asking for person, by name. Told not interested has made several calls since in patterns. Watch your ID or block the call. Don't let them know your whereabouts.

1/29 Got the same number on Caller ID but just hours later when I called back the number was not in service.

2/15 Rec'd a call which came in Private Name\Private Number and asked to speak to me by name and then stated that they were from the Detroit Police Department and wanted to know if I have a legal association with.... then the call dropped.  I suspect these are from the same caller.

The call came to me 3x in 3 days, when I answered and after a brief stutter, a young, early 20's Afro-American gal stated she was calling from the Michigan Police, 2009 Decal Drive. I'm a reserve officer, I support a lot of Law Enforcement opportunities. But this one, THEY NEVER CALL IN THIS MANNER! When I asked the young women what address she has for me, she hung up. RED FLAG!

So, I've just finished a phone call with the MI State Police. This is a scam, When we call the number, 313-334-3474, we get a rapid busy response. You're getting this too right? This is due to the number being "Forwarded to a new number. Scam Artists, Con Artists, and simple Scumbags use this trick. The Detectives advice to me, we need to report this to our news papers, or news stations. Again, this is a scam.

There are a lot of these Calls, from many different complaint sites, I have a few things in the works, getting closer to finding the bottom of this barrel. The key item I see, you stated that you are with your wife 24 hours a day due to her not being able to drive. That's my red flag. As I wrote this, I am not sure if this is a private message or not. So, I'll keep this simple.

recevied call from this number. claimed to be from the police dept in my local area trying to get donations to help support dept in need. 1st off this is not even my local area code. after the first time i said no he continued by asking to do a one time pledge of 20 and kept saying the police dept can aount on me. it comes up one the caller id as a "local area call"

Received this call on 03/26/09 @ 3:13pm, I said hello several times heard a voice briefly then the call was dropped.  Called it back and it too was a fast busy signal, sounded like a woman's voice, but not quite sure.  These have been going on too long, who is going to put a stop to it???  I did a reverse look up and it is a land line in the Detroit area.

This loser keeps calling me too! Never leaves a message, but it's annoying! Detroit isn't too far away, but I know virtually no one in the 313 area code.

I called the number back, it's the Police Officers Association of Michigan - the recording gave an alternate number of 800-365-1632 and hours of 9-9 Eastern. They are seeking donations, and may offer something in return. Last year, one of the nearby  cities police chief - speaking to a group of citizen academy students - explained that the Police Department does not contact residents for donations. These companies keep a sizable portion of the money collected and very little (if any) goes to the Police Department.

313-334-3474 has called almost every day for more than a month. If we answer, no one is there--just an odd sound like someone driving with the windows open. If we don't answer, our message machine records the same noise. Says "local area call" but we aren't 313.

Said I was a $1000 on-line shopping spree and needed my credit card # to qualify. Told her I was not interested and hung up.

Got about 5 calls from (313)-334-3474 and every time they just hang up.

Ive received this call and I dont answer it, Id advise you not to.  Being a Police Officer I know this is a bogus number possibly from the prison so that they can use your number to pay for there collect calls.
"Do not answer this number".  if you do check your phone bill later and if you have a collect call on it notify your carrier.

Remember in google you can get anyones name and phone number even if its not published so be carefule.

received five calls.  I called back and it said DCS and would be recorded.

I remember years ago the Police went on the news here in Detroit to let people know that they DO NOT solicit donations over the phone this way.
