Multiple unwanted phone calls from this number, silence on the other end hangs up after 20-30 sec., when called back there is a fax signal.

Has called me twice today,  I answered once and it was Richard from Hiring Our Heroes.  I got disconnected, and every time I have tried to call back, I get a fax signal.  Hiring Our Heroes is a legitimate organization, but they are based out of DC, so why is someone from Michigan calling me, and why is the return call a fax number?

It could very well be used in "spoofing" the phone number. A lot of the scammers spoof numbers so you can't get any pin down details on them!   All you can do is report the numbers that show on the caller id sadly.

Sick of the same call/hangup from this number, 313-447-2737. It was Hiring Our Heroes b/c the guy spoke to me once a few days ago from this # and I told him to call me back b/c I was busy. Sick of the calls. I did call back and it's a fax??

Same has happened to me, I'm adding them to my "no ringer"  phone list.  Problem solved.

Two calls from this number today. I ignored one and when I answered the second call, no one was there.

Keep getting calls from this number. 3 times today. They never leave a message, so I never called back. I have heard of the Hiring our Heroes organization, but I always feel if it's that important, they'll leave a message. Getting really annoyed from all the calls though...

I got called by this number. I have not answer it.

I have repeatedly received calls from this # and it's irritating that they keep calling but leave no message. They called 4 times today!!

I have recieved serveral messages from this number.... sadly they still wont leave a VM so i do not call back. the first few times i did... but now i wont answer the phone when the number shows up... simple because there is no one there.... its like really....

same as the rest got called 3 times today and a few times this weekend.  If I answer no one there and hangs up after a few second.  I think my issues was I made the mistake of calling it back the first time it called me.

This happened to me as well.  At first I ignored the calls and then I answered it today.  They claim to be calling from hiring our heroes and ask if you got a job from the job fair and a couple of other questions.  It sounded legit at first then it ended by the guy saying a bunch of stuff and hanging up really fast.  I will be calling the FTC and reporting this number as well as contacting Hiring Our Heroes so they can alert people.  I am also going to call my cell phone provider as well.

This is in fact Hiring Our Heros. They are very persistant and will continue to call until you answer before they will clear you from their call list. They are lawfully calling you IF you attended a hiring event and provided your phone number when you signed up. They called me about 8 times before I bothered to answer. Once I did, they asked me a three question survey:
1.Did you get a job from attending a Hiring Our Heros job fair?
2.Did you get any interviews from attending the job fair?
3.On a scale of 1-5, how would you rate the event?

Just answer the call! Take the survey or decline the survey and you will get cleared from their call list.

Thanks for the reply.  Were you able to verify this is a legitimate operation?  I am in the process of contacting Hiring Our Heroes about this.  I did take the brief survey but the person on the other end of the line ended the call so rudely I can't beleive this is actually a government entity conducting this survey.

I looked into it.  The calls are legitimate.  Here is the response from HOH:
