The Caller hung up after 5 seconds of me saying hello.  When I returned the call, an operator indicated the following: all circuits are busy now, try your call again later".

This number called my office.  Caller ID = D2 SEG4.  No one there.

They called twice this morning and hung up each time I answered. Like my initials, it's BS.

Thanks everyone for posting.  I avoid answering numbers I don't know and I confirmed it from your posts.  They call and don't leave a message.  Called me twice this morning about 1 1/2 hours apart with the 2nd call being a couple minutes ago.

I think it may be a debt collector.

After many attempts, I got through to a switchboard.  This is definitely magazine periodical marketing.

This number called me 3 times same thing. hello and hung up!!!!!! how do we block this caller?

I got through, the message said they're a customer care company representing a free publication that I would be eligible for...added the number to go straight to voice-mail.

Yep, call rcvd with a hangup after just long enough to burn a minute off of my prepaid cell phone, anyone got any ideas how they are choosing what phone numbers they are calling or what SOB sold our names to this outfit I am in the Engineering field as a consultant mainly in the electronics industry I use sbcglobal email addy, anyone match my profile? if we figure out a common thread we can get the source and boy do I want to!! I have had several of these calls over the past 3 days all from different #'s all the same details as this one 314-627-5547, 1-217-693-1136, and 1-978-485-0533 one each day .
I am notifying the phone companies the numbers originate from as well!

I too travel and have gotten calls from the 314 and 978 numbers.  I fly Airtran almost exclusively and rent from Avis.  Wonder if either of them could have sold the numbers?

Also received calls from the 314, 978, and 217 numbers.  Answered none, but called each back and got the recording saying it's a free publication I recently received trying to contact me.  Reported all to donotcall.gov

Time Warner sells their list. I know because they spelled my name wrong and just after I signed upon started to get phone calls and mail for my misspelled name. When these people call, I don't say anything. Four times now I've had a person say hello after about two minutes of waiting. Personally I think it is a program checking if numbers are valid.

Telemarketing from the NY POST called me by name, I don't know them, on my mother open line over ccpd bldg#.  I marking them as cautions taken others report sources --- attribution to NY POST come over cid unit as Bronx Local (314) 627-5547.

Yes I agree with all of you . . CID (caller ID) comes in as Bronx Local 314-627-5547. If answered no reply for whatever reason - never leaves a message.  Whomever is calling should you get to talk to them - by all means never do business with them please . . spam comes to mind - what's the law regarding this area? Anyone?

Called my number, I was on the phone and they did not leave a message.  No message, no return call.  I then check the number on line and saw these posts.  Glad I did not call back.
