What do they want when they call?

Received a call from "BCRF" today at 1:56 pm. After 3 rings caller hung up.  I looked up BCRF and it is for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Called them (was not the same number that was listed on my caller I.D. which was 314-627-5579) and asked them if they did telephone solicitations and was told no they did not and that they had received several calls just today about people getting calls using the same BCRF acronym.  Looked up the area code and it is coming from St. Louis Missouri.  Called the number back and got a recording for a voice mail box.  This is not a legitimate not for profit agency - in other words it is a telemarketer and a scammer.

I received the same call from St Louis Missouri Same number as above and I called back only to get a busy signal. I felt uneasy as did most others I read that received this call. I looked up the Breast cancer releif foundation first then stumbles across this site. All the numbers were
like 921 something  But this one is 1-314-627-5579 And yes it was a older lady and she sounded kinda stuttery with the details. When I asked who to make out the money order to She said don't worry about that its a self adressed envelope and said ok can we count on you to make your pledge I told them I couldn't do 25$ and they said maybe 15 or 20  and i agreed to 15 and told them i would try to do 20.  I was fooled because I buy generously anything that supports Breast cancer in general I even told her that my mom has cystic fibroses and that I wanted to others.

WHAT A SHAME!!!

I was gone yesterday and the call came in from the 314-627-5579 number and the BCRF was the name on the caller ID.  My adult son answered the phone and he said they would not answer him and hung up.  I suppose they did not think they could get over on him.  Thanks everyone for the info.  I love this site.

This place is a scam. Do not waste your time or money dealing with them. Breastcancerrelief.org is a joke of a site with the only option to donate.

Number unfamiliar to us, did not answer.  Now I'm glad we didn't!  Do not like telemarketers, and like scam artists even less!

I just got a call from this number, St. Louis MO came up on my caller ID. I do not answer phone calls from people I do not know. Thought I'd just add to the thread that they are still at it.

We were just hit with caller BCRF 314-627-5579 then when I call the number you get a voice mail.  interesting.

I just received a call from 314-627-5579 BCRF. My granddaughter answered the call and told them I wasn't available. When I called back got a voice mail. If this is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation don't you think they would have someone there to answer calls.

Received call from 314-627-5579. I Did not answer the telephone.  The answering machine picked up and nobody said anything. After a few seconds they hung up.

Call from 314-627-5579 on 7-31-09 @ 10:15 am CDT.  Shows up as "CCDP".  Do not know who CCDP is.  Same number called on 7-30-09.  CID = BCRF which is Breast Cancer Research Foundation according to above posts.  What does CCDP stand for.

I did not think that I put in the caller type as Fax machine?  I do not know what the caller type is.

Who is CCDP?  Received this call on 7/31 @ 5:15 pm.  Also, received a call from BCRF on 7/29 @2:48 pm with the same number as the CCDP number.  I am on a "do not call" list and want this stopped.

Called around 8:15 in the morning, right after I left for work. Woke up the whole house; wife, baby and dog. Thanks a lot, jerks. Don't expect a donation anytime soon. Oh wait, this isn't a real charity anyway. What a joke.

They called me about an hour ago and I'm in Colorado.  I said "Hello" three times, no answer.

Got a call from the number 314 627 5579 with CCDP as the caller.  Found CCDP to be Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)on the internet.  
I DON'T ANSWER THESE CALLS IF I DON'T RECOGNIZE THE CALLER.

Didn't pick up

I answered the phone call from this number with caller id CCDP.  I said hello several times, then I heard a click and the phone went to dial tone.  I can't believe somebody would run a scam claiming to get money for cancer research it's sick!
