No message, hags up, keeps calling??!!

Has called twice within 10 minutes this morning on my landline. The first call I simply picked up and hung up. After the first call, I pulled up a .WAV file of the standard "out of service" three-tone beep. So the second time they called, I turned on my computer speakers as loud as they would go, answered the call, held it up to the computer speaker, and played the tone. Then I hung up. I have heard this tricks autodialers into thinking the number is out of service, and it stops calling. We'll see. I've apparently put myself on some kind of list unknowingly because in the past 3 weeks I've gotten 3-4 calls a day from numbers I don't recognize all over the country who never leave a voicemail. It has to be unsolicited telemarketing because I do not give this number to any of my credit card, bank, or utility accounts.

Yep same here - no message left.  I get tired of phone calls.

I've been getting repeated calls for months from this number. It's always a recording saying something like "Hi, I'm John from WCA and you have won" Press 1 to speak to an agent or 3 to opt out.

I have opted out at least a dozen times, I have spoken to the "agent" and the "Supervisor" to get my number removed 3 times. And just now I get another call.

I spoke to a woman named Sarah who said their company name is:

I have registered a complaint now with the Florida Attorney General and I encourage all of you who are experiencing problems with this company to do the same by filling out the complaint form located.

Also if you have not done so already, call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 and have your phone entered on the national "Do not call" list.

Yeah I would be very curious to know how these people, among many others, got this phone number WHEN I JUST GOT IT MYSELF LESS THAN A MONTH AGO!!! I understand that numbers are reused; i have had to tell collectors that "Lisa" no longer has this number...numerous bill collectors after her. But how do they know I have the number? Have had telemarketers leave personal messages directly to me by name. I would start with TWC but am getting ready to leave them anyway so...

Funny, that's how I feel about Global Warming, Obama Care, Electric Cars and Amnesty, except that would be "Cancerous Democratisms" I guess...      Anyway this number calls a lot.

Reaction: The first one I shut the phone off quickly. The second one, I was not near my phone. There were no voicemails.
