Got a call from this number today.  Rang 4 times and they hung up not waiting to leave a message.

These people should be fed to Griffon vultures. Harass you and don't leave messages.

Called this afternoon and started talking before they realized it was an answering machine. They were somewhat garbled but I believe they were peddling home security systems.Does any of these idiots know what the do not call list is?

Just received this call, Shelby from a home security system. Started talking immediately. I said, not interested remove me from your call list .....pause...."well in exchange for letting us put a sign in your yard you would get a free wireless security system" I don't want it put me on your do not call list .......pause.... "That's great, can I send you to our other department so they can explain more about the product?" I don't want it! I am on the national do not call list I don't know why you people are even calling me! I'm going to report this number! .....pause.... "Ok well, you have a great day then"

Wtf? It's like she couldn't hear me or something, just refused to acknowledge me.

There are a /myriad/ of different phone numbers claiming to be selling home security systems lately, and at least some seem to be using "soundboards". That means that the person on the other end of the line has the phone hooked up to a computer or set near a speaker so that all they have to do to respond to you is press a button - every single response line is pre-recorded, and the "best" matches from those sound bytes are picked by the caller as you speak. That's probably why the person's responses weren't very comprehensive in relation to your specific conversation.

It's dastardly and annoying, but above all it's cowardly.

A call from John supposedly from Medic Alert; says he has a Medic Alert that he wants to deliver.

Just received a call from them - again.  Home Securities.  Asked to be put on their "Do Not Call List" and they immediately hung up.  Great Customer Service!  I really want to do business with them - NOT!

They keep calling me on my cell phone even though I am on the Do not call list. I refuse to answer calls from numbers I do not recognize

Our place of business received a call from Home Protection, but hung up as soon as I was answering.  We are registered on the DNC registry.

Businesses cannot be registered with the Do Not Call list.  Well technically you can place your business number on it but it means nothing under the law. Business to business calls are exempt.  See the DNC FAQ here for verification:

Just called me about the free remote security system...this is the second time today. I told her I was not interested and she has already spoken to my wife. The next thing I heard was a click as she hung up on me.

Just got a call from Shelby (or Shelly) @ 3:23 PM EST today (Aug. 13). She wanted to put a wireless security system in my home if I agreed to put a sign in my yard. I told her she had the wrong number and not to call here anymore. The good news is that I hung up on her before she hung up on me. Where do they get these people?

Yeah, I've gotten calls from them before, too. It was a different number, but they said that this medic alert device was already paid for. I told him that I didn't pay for it, and that he "needs to contact the customer who did" pay for it, as I'm sure they have a real medical emergency. He kept saying 'but you don't understand, it's already paid for.' Yeah right!!
