- CuddlyMomReceived a call advising me that I had qualified for a $1000.00 loan and they needed my bank account number to deposit the funds. I said no thanks and hung up. They called right back and said I needed to provide info in order to cancel the loan. I hung up again. They called again and said now I needed to give them $100 to cancel the loan. Again I hung up. They called a fourth time and threatened to call the police and sue me for the $100. The names are Barbara Robins and Peter Thomas. The accents are Indian.

- crywolfI had filled out an app a while ago and got a call the other day.I had to put a small downpayment but I had the wrong state. That slowed it down. Then, today, I don't know if I had scrolled down to the state next to mine, but they had to change my state. I haven't gotten any news on it this afternoon and I already promised to give my loans(two I wanted to pay off with the 1600 to free up my cash.
I promised my title loan I would be over today to negtiate and one loan company or two as they helped me keep a roof over my head when I was ill out of town with toxic exposure.
I think they are having trouble establishing my identity.I don't know if that happens with id theft.I hope not as I have not heard this afternoon and am a wreck.Their company is VERY secure and you have an id number that the person who calls you has to know in order to discuss anything.I wish I had found them sooner as I needed that kind of protection.
There have been a lot of fraudelent collectors doing bribes, with an offer in exchange for a loan payment, representing other companies and therefore stealing from the payday loans if the frauster appears credible..Just a side note but make sure you have any collector's infor and check it with the company. So far I caught 2 of them, reported to the companies which responded with a lot of helpful info.Wouls be glad to share anything I have documented as well as abt. 220 tel numbers..Has anyone heard of comppanies having trouble with an id?I need this loan so I can at least, get a new pair of jeans and pay the pdl's.- Caller: USA PL CO.

- Mikie in Georgia replies to JBThis message was posted by one of the con artists. Read the posting, and how their grasp of writing the English language is not up to par. (within an Hr) "Mr. Smith" helped. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
They are calling from a throw away cell phone, and are calling from India or Pakistan, not from the US.
They are out of the reach of law enforcement, and change numbers often.
PLEASE, DO NOT be fooled. Lending money, and collection efforts are a civil matter. NO ONE CAN be arrested for failure to repay a loan.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.
The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.
By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.
Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.
They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.
Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.
The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.
If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.
