This is a scam call - do not give any personal info or call them back.  Google them and see that they are scammers.  My niece accidentally picked up and they scared and threatened her and got her to transfer $500 to a card - they did not let her put the phone down and told her that they were outside her apartment and would arrest her immediately!  If you really need to confirm the problem, dont call the number they leave.  Instead call SS office directly and ask them.

Claimed to be "Victor Frank" from the Department of Social Security Administration.  He had a thick Indian accent and claimed to be calling from Texas despite the fact that the number is a New York number.  He wanted me to verify my date of birth, which obviously I did not do and when I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told he was not able to do that and that my Social Security Number would be suspended and I would be arrested if I did not cooperate.  I laughed, told him I cannot wait until the date he gets caught and prosecuted and then I hung up.
