Left a message on answering machine that they were the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and a lawsuit was being filed against us.  Said to call back at this number.  I know it's a scam, but there are some who may not realize this. Of course, I did not call back.

I returned the call. They claim to be from IRS and a lawsuit is against me for back taxes from 2008 - 2103 .  When she asked me for my laywers info I asked why I had never been notified till now..... They stated they tried 2 times and they got the paperwork back as undeliverable then when I refused to give them info and asked how do I know they weren't scam artist.......then they hung up...... So I guess I was right to think  that.

I got the same autodialer call claiming to be from the IRS.   It seemed to be a computer generated voice.  I knew immediately it was a scam and didn't call back.  Second one like this in the last 6 months from different numbers.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
