My number is on the do not call registry. The automated recording (which I thought was illegal in the first place) said a neighbor, friend or family member referred me. If that isn't true, isn't it fraud and if it is true, don't they have to tell me who gave them my name. It was for a home security system. No.

No it's not illegal to have an automated voicemachine. A lot of company's that have receptionists read a script to people that have been put on a list from people who work for the company. Example; say your friend works for Cutco. She is asked to put names down of people who she knows, or are on her phone.. All you have to do is answer them and tell them you're not interested or they will keep calling you. I know this because I am a recepionist.

Left no message. When I call back ,it's a recording saying I cannot complete this call as dialed. Tried several times with no result.

It's not a debt caller, I have no debt. It's a  credit consolidation co.

I don't answer numbers I don't recognize - if it's important they will leave a voice message - which this call didn't - however a quick google search turns up this info - so assume it's a telemarketer -
