I received a call from "Mark Williams", with an (east) Indian accent, no caller ID, saying he was authorized by Microsoft as a Microsoft support company to call and warn me about a serious Windows problem on my computer.

This is a scam of course, often reported. I asked for his name and telephone number (315-285-0310) and his company name, "ICS Support".

He happily gave me the information, and when I said this was an illegal scam he happily admitted as such, then said "but who cares", said goodbye, and hung up.

Highly doubtful the call came from upstate New York, but be warned. Don't fall for this scam.
