This person, "Mark," called saying that he was from "Institute of Technologies" in Brooklyn, NY and that they had detected Viruses on my computer.  He wanted access to my computer.

This is the infamous computer tech scam that the FTC has been trying to crack down on. Callers say various things, but all involving gaining access to your computer and financial information. Report anything you get from this number to the FTC - they have managed to sue and collect penalties from three companies at least.

Same scam here.  "Peter Day" at 315-407-1791.  Obviously calling from a call center in India or somewhere similar.  

I just received a call from this guy he wanted me to go online to (www.win75.us) so I knew was a fraud . I told him to read Acts 2:38 in the bible ..

Said his name was Alex Martin.  Offered to help rid my computer of a virus that has been causing a lot of trouble.  This guy might have gotten away with it but his English was very bad. I also checked him out here and u guys pute wise.   Thanks

Indian-sounding male claiming to be from Microsoft Technical Department says he has determined that my computer has a serious virus and will help me get rid of it. I asked for his number and said I'd call back. I did not after finding this site.

guy called saying he was from windows and detected a virus.  I said you've got to be kiddingme and this must be a scam.  told him i would call him back.  www.win55.us.  generic website with a lot of copy.  terrible that some people would fall for this.
