These people had my Ssn and said someone would arrive at my house in 20 minutes to "get me." I called local law enforcement right away. They identified the caller as a scam "phantom debt collector." They advised that I notify my bank and credit reporters of the breech in security.

I got a call from this number and I was on the phone with the guy who wanted me to hand over my attorney's contact information to them because they say I have 3 criminal actions against my social security number. When I asked about them he then asked me a few questions to determine who I was and then said that he needed to transfer me to someone. He acted surprised that I didn't know anything about it. While I was on the phone with them the same number called me. I went ahead and typed a search for the number and found this. So I went ahead and told them that if they ever call me again I will sue them for millions and that I would win for harassment and that I would file criminal actions against them.

I received a call from this number today and I told the man on the other end that I was reporting him to the police department and he was silent.  I then called my local police who took this number down and later reported to me that there was no answer when they tried calling it.  The number is a New York number so next time I am suppose to tell them that the New York Police will be right over to arrest them for Harassment and Fraud.

Your thug callers do not maintain this site or this web page, and they are hardly "stoking" anything. Your local police and your litigation won't get far until they and your federal court obtain jurisdiction over Gujarat Province. You do have to resist fraud debt collectors, but understand they aren't getting sued or jailed on wishful thinking.

Hopefully you now realize that consumer debt in America is *NOT A CRIMINAL MATTER* and only real criminals claim otherwise. I think it's time for the usual handy links .....

What everyone is reporting here amounts to extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

My notes from October 2011 on payday loan and "hot check" collectors are linked below.

It's  a scam. There is no "free grant!"
Do a web search, you'll find literally  hundreds of reports on this scam.

SCAM - they would want you to send them set up money or give them your bank account - to drain it.

IGNORE!!!!! There is NO grant - and it is illegal to demand up front money for a grant, prize, or loan.
