Julia from the mediation department said that I had and outstanding bill and that either myself or my legal counsel needed to call and settle. If not, it would be turned over to counsel. SCAM!! Looked up the number and it's a home landline number.   I think it may be similiar to the Ellen B scams.

I received the same call from Julia, it's a scam! Time to add my number to the "Do Not Call" list again!!

I received the same call from Julia, kept playing over and over, no live person unknown who they are calling for. SCAM!!!

i received the same call from Julia, never said a name for who they were calling for. I figured it was a SCAM!!! Thanks everyone for confirming. Definitely time to join the "Do not call" list again.

The caller said they were a mediator and that there was complaint lodged against me. I hung up called back threatened to call the police on them since they have called me a few times and she said " there is no case on you, it may have been resolved"

Received same voicemail two days in a row from julia...tired of these stupid phone scams...wish that making a police report could end this but nothing happens.

I received the same call from Julia.  I called back and a guy answered who told me a case was getting ready to be filed against me at the District Attorney's Office, but he couldn't provide me with paperwork because it has been "sealed."  He said he would only speak to my attorney. I have no outstanding debts so it has to be a scam.  Very disturbing.

The same this just happen to me 2 hrs ago talking about charges being brought up against me, and I would need se one to post my bail when I get arrested. The person has been leaving messages since last week, and now this has went to far. Reading everyone complaint just confirmed what I thought.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

This is a SCAM, I already reported it to the police. Be careful there trying to make like you owe a finicial inst money.

I just got one too. from Julia. same message. I called them and they had all kinds of info on me. Thank God i have 2 different emails and phone. 1 for the place i work for and 1 for my personal. They have my work. but they also have my bank. Guess what they said I owe money to a pay day loan i never had. But to be sure if i had fraud or not. I had my bank pull up a date which they gave me as to when it happen and guess what. no such thing every happen. SO My Bank is putting out a notice of this being a scam.
