I think this is a scam.  This number (317-472-8016) has called my home and cell several times lately at different times of the day. When I answer the phone there is never anyone at the other end.  I get the feeling that they are trying to figure out when I am home, and when I'm not.  When I called the number back I got an answering matching saying that I had reached the Childhood Leukemia Foundation, I would have expected to get some kind of automated phone dialer, so I'm thinking that it is someone spoofing the caller ID of the Leukemia Foundation.

I receive calls constantly from this number claiming to be Barabra from Childhood Luekemia Foundation. I blocked their calls with my provider, it only lasts 90 days. on the 91st day the calls began again - every day and at all hours. Never a person just an automated call I am so frustrated and want them to stop forever.

The problem is that these are really "robo-calls".
Their phone system calls the numbers and when a phone is ANSWERED, then it switches to the first available live person.
Sometimes, there's a delay before the "person" picks up.
Which is also why you sometimes hear conversations or laughter.
They somehow indicate that their line is "available", and are talking to co-workers when the computer hands a call off to them.
So, THEY didn't actually dial the number.
and the computers can dial LOTS of numbers, over and over and really don't care what time of day it is!

How about Sunday night at 8:30 pm and I said this is Sunday Night, don't we get a break from this?

Just saw this number and the name on caller id,pissed me OFF,as our son has just been diagnosed with a brain tumor,so I thought it may have been an important call....so not right- and we are on the do not call reg....

If I don't recognize the number of the caller, I don't answer the phone.  The phone is there for my convenience, and if I don't want to answer it, I don't.  If the caller really wants to talk to me, he/she will leave a message, and then I call them back.  It is your phone.  YOU have the power to answer the calls you want to answer.

Just got a call, man was asking for me. (first just gave my first name). when I asked who is this, he said "that's what I'm trying to tell you but first I need to know if you are (my full name). Told him "no, wrong number"
Sounded like it was going to ask for money.
Legit organizations asking for donations do not hesitate to give me their name and the organization. Not this cat and mouse game.

Called me by my partial name when answer machine got done talking.  They can't even get info correct.  That's because it's probably not a real place of business.  Caller hung up when I didn't pick the phone up.  I could hear all kinds of other people taking on phones in the background.

Woke me up at 8:10 AM on a Saturday morning. This group spends most of their donations on fund raising, so why would anyone donate to them?

anyway, tonight I answered, just to figure who it is.
gut knew my name, wouldn't tell me who he is until I admitted who I was but I didn't and he still figured he will try anyway. ames from the childhood Leukemia Foundation dis his spiel about Christmas Basket etc, I told him I do my donations online and asked for their website, he said "that's ok, we'll pass"
And hung up.
I did call the number back which answered with said "Childhood Leukemia and leave a message"
Any legit organization will not hesitate to give a website, after all, donations made in one form or another still goes to the company.
Don't give any information at all.

Got acall #317-472-8016 9-23-13 at 9:00 A.M. and onother call 9-24-13 8:06 A.M.If you work night shifts you don't want to  be bothered by an annoying calls early in the morning.

9:00pm! On a Sunday night?!  Even if this charity was worth giving to i.e. most of the donation actually goes to whom it should. You would think they would try not to piss of their donners by the repeated early/late phone calls.

I have received a few calls from this number. Most of the calls come in at around 8 AM. Very annoying to get a call at such an early hour.

Caller ID says, "CHILDHOOD LEUKE".  Probably a commercial fundraiser.

Call from 317-472-8016 this morning.  Caller ID said CHILDHOOD LEUKEMIA.

I did not answer.  They hung up after three rings.

I checked out Childhood Leukemia Foundation in Brick, NJ, on Charity Navigator.  They have one of the lowest possible ratings.  Nearly all their income goes for fund raising.  

I never donate over the phone anyway.  These supposed phone charities are all just scammers.

Got a call from  this number and a lot of others.  I record the numbers and when one show up I blow a whistle in there ear after someone gets on the phone.

Have received multiple daily calls from this number, late at night and early in the morning.  There are laws around the times that these organizations can call, and most legitimate organizations abide by those laws. I have seen this number come up on the caller ID with different names - Childhood Leukemia, Creative Consultants, and just the number with the city and state it generates from. I have never answered one of these calls, but they keep on calling - never leave a message on the voicemail, though.

I have tried the do not answer the call thing...and it has not worked....they call all hours of the day and night and everyday of the week...What else can I do.
