Received these calls last week, very heavy Indian accent.  They are supposedly from "Federal Bureal of Crime Investigation" Saying I owed a payday loan and my home address was in another state across the country that I have never even stepped foot in.  Today I got another call, same deal, saying I owed a different payday company, and my home address was in a different state.  (510) 277-1825 was the number on the caller ID.  

should I file something somewhere to protect myself or not worry about these at all??

Given what you've posted, there's no real need to do anything. The scammers are just trying to browbeat victims into giving them money. However, it's advisable to monitor bank accounts, especially those that you've listed on loan applications (if any). You can also report to law enforcement using the links near the top of page 1.

These scammers should recognize my name they call all the time telling me I have a law suit against my SSN.  When I ask them to send me the paperwork the little Indian man tells me no!  That I must settle with him.  Keep trying little man.

Gain again we request all, we do not call anybody without solid proof. Don't try to pretend on these sites that you are not guilty. Out of 100 cases maybe one or two debtors are genuine. We always consider for those who are really suffered by theft of identity. I think most of these posts are from payday loan and credit card defaulters. They make it a habit of taking loan more than four times a year and they always forget to pay it on time. They know very well about high interests and penalties of payday loan and credit card loan, but to enjoy life they neglect this fact. When we demand for these loan after offering 20% to 50% discount settlement, instead of resolving the issue they try to complain against us.. As an attorney my guess is 95% citizens resolve it.. only 5% denies and few of them deviate this issue by complaining to consumer forum, local police and at attorney general office. Again again I request all, please do answer the calls. Don't use indecent language, if you can not pay just simply deny to pay and ask for legal documents at your present address, you will not be entitled for settlement but you have chance to prove yourself in court. If this much will be done nobody will call you time and again. .We call because false promises are given for payment, not answering phone calls. Not to disclose their present whereabouts etc administration is very well aware about defaulters. Please repay the loan debts so fresh loan could be reimbursed to really needy fellow beings. If you can read between lines all your complaints and queries are answered. I know big defaulters will still make very much negative complain for this post.

They keep calling me at home and at work.  I have got into shouting matches.  I don't have any pay day loans and never have.  I have a new car loan and it seems these calls started after that.  I have in no uncertain terms, I will never give them any money...they continue to call and harrass me.  What a joke!

Me and my husband both get these call 10 times a day so when I see the numbers I block numbers that start with 321, 559 etc they can call they want I am keepin the recordings and sendin them to the right pl to stop this [***].... these calls r so dumb its a waste of time but they will never talk or get anything off me.. please report this to the BBB an the government......

Anyone with enough money can get these rerouted altered phone numbers. When you do get a call from him or other jokers, go to the FBI Internet Complaint website, www.ic3.gov and file a complaint. They are actively taking complaints against callers like this. And when you get these calls, make sure you record them, because the FBI Internet Complaint department is asking us to get as much detail, recordings, and information on the caller before you hang up, so that the FBI can have a bigger case against them. .

Ic3 gov receives more than 100 complaints from defaulters of credit card and other loans.Loan repayment has nothing to do with cyber crime.After all you should contact Creditors instead of ic 3,You will have to be clean before making any complain.Chances are there you may invite lot of troubles and have to face irreparable losses.Don't make life so complex.Let others live  simply and happily.
