Text them back spam and everyone hit them hard. Number comes back as AT&T Cell Number. Use http://www.onlinetextmessage.com/ and spam these turds back.

Recieved same text....an offer to modify mortgage. Please report their number to the National Do Not Call Registry. If they continue, they will be fined heavily. Get 'em where it really hurts....in the pocketbook! here's the Government Registry link: https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx

Received a spam message asking about refinance my mortgage

I Received the same message, I tried to call them back and the mailbox was full!  GOOD THING...lol!  I also filed a complaint with the https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx

Text message - Can't ID the source so I ignored it.

text msg. offered to lower my mortgage. asked for permission to call me. i texted back that i was on the dnc list and would file a complaint if they did it again. no further contact so far.

TEXT SAID: "Dear homeowner, interest rates are at historic lows.  How is the time to refinance.  May we please give you a call regarding this?"

This is how you get back at those scammers:

Call their toll-free number (1-866... or 1-888... or 1-800...) from a PUBLIC PHONE booth.

Why? Because everytime they take such a call, they have to pay at least $0.50 to the phone company of the public phone booth!

Please do the same, because this is what you get out of it: they pay you to hear your complaints! The more you call, the more they have to pay!    

The number they gave me was 1-888-336-3169 - and I called this number today at least 20-30 times... That costs them at least $10 to $15 - and probably much more, because the $0.50 that these scammers have to pay for each call is the minimum amount. It can be as high as $0.75 per call.
