suspicious call saying that they had papers to serve on a family member......total BS.

Caller stated he was a sheriff with papers to serve for an Elaine Blackman. Tried to call this number back but it is "blocked".

JP & Associates - Collection Agency - Im going to file against them because they refuse to stop calling my place of employment.  I have asked and asked them not to call me at work and they continue to do so.  I have over 20 calls documented.  Not to mention it is illegal for them to treaten to serve me with papers.  I have them recorded.  Best part is what they are trying to collect was a debt of my x husband that I divorced over 15 years ago. WOW

The 888 & 801 numbers have too little feedback to be of much use, but have been reported to be call-back numbers for JP & Associates. The 972 number is not confirmed to be JP & Associates, but the pattern of calling for someone to accept papers fits exactly.

The 303 number is apparently a MagicJack number, as when I originally called it back to find out who was calling, I got this message: "The MagicJack customer you have called is unavailable to take your call. Please leave a message after the tone. -- Sorry, but the user's mailbox can't accept more messages." I can't imagine a legitimate collections office would use MagicJack, so it's a pretty safe assumption that these are SOL debt bottom-feeders.

Bottom line: Block their numbers if you can, and do not talk to them at all. They're trying to collect un-collectable debt, and no amount of talking or listening to them will help in the slightest. There's nothing they can legally do to you so long as you don't restart the clock on anything.

Collection Agency identifying themselves as the Sherriffs Department and saying they have paperwork to serve. When they call, they can't pronunciate my name correctly and you can hear them shuffling through paperwork not sure who they're calling for, but besides the point. They hang up when yuo start asking questions and when you call back the message says someting along the line of 'the phone jack number you're trying to reach is disconnected'.... total BS!

United Processing calling threatening said going to serve prison time for fraud. gave me case number and when I called its JP & Associates. What a crock!. Will not give you a physical address.. Wanting payments through Western Union...They are embezzling peoples money...No address so they cant be tracked down! Beware! 323-247-9070....1-888-667-0080

Caller ID says California.  They just called here asking for someone I have never heard of.  I told them that.  They wanted to know if I knew how to reach this person.  How would I know how to reach someone I have never heard of?  Asked me if this was a new number.  No, I have had this number since I was 16 years old.  They said this will just cause further problems for her since she has falsified court documents with this number.  I said okay.  Why would I care?  She acted surprised.  She said she would remove my number.  We shall see.

Same exact thing happened to me months ago, and they talked to me for the longest. I just received another phone call like 10minutes ago, and I feel like they are trying to use the name as before! It also sounded like the same guy that I had talk to. I said, ya'll have called me before, and I do not know who that is/ I proceeded to talk, but they had ended the call. I tried calling back, and it is some service magic or something. Its so stupid! and frustrating! They wanted to see if anyone would be at the home to receive court documents. Why would they be calling from California, when California is a completely different stated from us?

This # has called my home now for the last 1yr & now they are calling my moms cell #. How did they even get that? Anyway, I told them off I don't know how many times but the calls just continue. They say the same thing in every call " Is someone going to be home to accept legal documentation coming from your local sheriff's office"  . I'm ready to find these guys & give them a beat down!!!!!

I did not answer this call ,has called me 2 time .caller ID says Los Ageles,CA .They just say ((( HELLO HELLO )))) that's it ,no message left.IDK

called saying that papers were to be served on Juan Rodriguez who gave my phone number.  Basically hung up on me at the end of the call which was why I got suspicious

I continue to recieve these calls about wanting to serve papers from the court for someone I don't even know.  I wish I could get them to stop.

Same experience as everyone here. I've told them to go ahead & serve these mysterious papers, but of course no one ever does. Now they're calling all of our relatives stating they have legal papers to serve, and it's absolutely humiliating!! Is that legal? I've tried to explain to relatives it was a hoax, and not to provide any info over the phone, but some relatives still think we're renegging on a debt, which I'd never do. But I also would never pay someone who refuses to say who they represent! I keep blocking their calls, but they just call from new numbers and they call relatives. How can I make them stop when I don't even know who they are??

They called my husband saying someone filed a complaint against him. He asked from who and the lady said she couldn't give him that information that he would have to call some other number. He just told the lady to mail him the information. Sounds like another scam in my opinion. When I call the number back it says its an unregistered magic jack number.

Jp associates called me gave me all the same stuff being said here and I fell for it when they had called I had just lost my job and was under stress so I didn't even think twice before giving them my account info and they got me for $379! And now they keep calling for a payment and threatening to serve me with papers. How do I stop this?

They served papers to an address I never lived at. They also called my mothers ex husbands side if the family and my in laws!  I've been out on workers comp for 2years and my checks are iffy. So in trying to keep food in my fridge and my lights on not worrying about debt from 7 years ago!

Not to mention I called them back because they practically "bullied" me to by calling my in laws (which is illegal) and the lady I spoke with got into a confrontation over the phone with a co worker with me on the phone. Saying she was gonna kill the person for slapping her ..etc. they are completley ghetto and not sure if they are even legit !
