I also got a call from this number stating that I owed the IRS 1k, he asked me if I had an attorney already.
also asked if I wanted to pay the amount due at the time of the call or would I rather go to a court where I would have to pay 3k. He said if I did that my credit score was going to be damaged with a black dot. It was really hard to understand the guy because he had a very strong accent. He also said that if i werent to take any action in this matter somebody was goibg to show up to my home and arrest me there, he said i could be facing up to 1 year in jail.

I don't know if this is a scam or not but i am doing more research on it.!!

I called the number back and the man asked for my father I asked what it was regarding and he began to tell me that they audited my father and found a discrepancy of 499 dollars. He asked if I had a lawyer and if I would give him their number. He then stated if I did not pay the amount and wanted to fight it the authorities would come to my home or workplace and arrest me. I laughed knowing that this call was scamy and told him I'll wait for the officer to arrest me.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Ignore and block the calls.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

    LMAO :-)
Never miss an opportunity to be cordial...I'm getting (a lot of) calls from thick accent foreigner's, threatening federal grand juries, magistrate's and the like.  It's getting comical.  This morning, after threatening me via voice mail, 'don't ignore this call' etc, etc., the female robo-voice wishes me well and tells me to 'take care'.  Here's an idea that might be funny, go to a payphone, if you can still find one, call them back, play the game.  Submit to their notion of compliance, tell them you'd like to clear the balance with a credit card, and since they are so worried about your well-being, ask them for their personal credit card information, validation date and security code to 'help' you clear up the tax liability.

It's definitely a scam.  They have been calling me and leaving a message everyday also.  Can't understand the message so today I called back.  When the guy that answered the phone said he was from the IRS, I told him to go away and not call me any more.  He said something in a language that I didn't understand but clearly ended with mother f*cker!  Don't think the IRS conducts besiness that way.

I just received a call from Tameka Johson claimuing to be with the IRS.  I know the IRS does not contact you by phone; mail and certified mail only.  I knew immediately, this was a scam.

After listening to her incoherent babble about getting arrested and needing my attorney's contact info, she fell silent when I ask her if she knew that I used to service her mother in the tent she lived in, in Pakistan.  Three dollars American was all we paid, but we got a military discounbt.

She went totally silent after I told her that I saw her uncle get eaten by a tiger when I was in Karachi.

Point is, this is a BS scam by a bunch of tent merchants

Also got a call from this number. It was an automated number as well. It said it was from some Johnson fellow from the IRS.  I called the number back and he told me his name, which I didn't catch.  I asked him who he was again, and he hung up.  I immediately checked the number for scam.  Does anyone know how they got my number?  Really sick of these kind of calls.
