323-284-5527 left voice mail message claiming to be Judy Smith from Federal Treasury. said "A tax fraud has been filed against you. Call immediately or you will be arrested

"Is officer Judy Smith from the Department of United States treasury. This
call is official final notice from United States treasury. The nature and
the purpose of this call is to inform you that we have received a legal
petition notice concerning a tax fraud against you still before the matter
goes to federal claims court house or before you get arrested. Please call
us immediately on our hotline division number that is 323-284-5527. Make
sure you call us as soon as possible." - TWC

Called my landline around noon and did not leave a message. I don't pick up the phone unless I can identify the caller; glad I didn't pick up after seeing all the feedback. Seems like a scam.

This is some type of IRS fraud. The IRS always sends out notices by mail.

I should of said fraud and not IRS fraud. I am sure the IRS is not involved in this. The IRS always sends out notices by mail and they would never threaten to arrest someone for a matter like this. I could not find out what they are after but there threat is completely unfounded.

Same message as received by: Lasse, e279rch and Sandra!  Would not classify call as a prank call, but am sure this is a scam to acquire personal and/or credit info.  Beware!!!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

A voice mail received yesterday said the caller (unidentified) was from the United States treasury tax division and was calling as an official final notice from United States treasury. Voice (not sure if male or female) went on to say the call was to inform me that there was a legal notice concerning a tax fraud against me and that before the matter
goes to federal claims court or before I get arrested, I should immediately call  323-284-5527, and to make
sure to call as soon as possible. Tried the number twice but just got static and then a beeping signal.  I feel fortunate that I did not get through.
