I had 2 of those messages one on my note8 that at I was locked out of, and the next was on my brand new note 9. I had a weird experience, left note 8 in a public restroom. Realized 4 hrs later retrieved it but it had been tampered with didn't have a lock on it and I never log out of my accounts., but I was logged out. Felt really shady, so I tried for 3 hrs to factory reset and finally was able. I wiped data and cashed. When I looked at recovery logs on the hard reset menu, there was some crazy codes in it. I found one part that referred to "Catalina de certifico" around the same time frame that my phone was missing. I tried to activate my 8 after the reset and it kept popping up please login with the one of the owners account for this device. I was unable to use it for a week, so I used my laptop to accessory Samsung and Google accounts. I got on FIND MY DEVICE and it said that I had two note 8 devicea. First was last seen the day I left in public, and it was unreachable. The second said it had just updated minutes ago. It was the same and only Note 8. Could a sophisticated tracker have been uploaded on it while it was out of my posession?

My samsung j7 crown sent a verification code to this # all on it's own. I've had the phone for a few weeks and to my knowledge no apps, not even S-Health, were recently updated and actually none of the Samsung apps on this phone have ever been opened/used. I know this phone # is owned by samsung so my phone was contacting samsung for some reason. Someone has to have an explanation for this....

No, the phone number is owned by the carrier.  It was purchased by them from the FCC.
