Calls cell phone, no message left. Blocked.

Something in my phone told me this was a probably a scam. But I’m out for a walk so I want to know they’ll answer. I simply gave my name and waited for the person at the other end to say something. He asked “Is Beverly there?” I said no, and he replied that he wasn’t going to leave a message. The funny thing is I’ve gotten calls – don’t know if it was from this number – asking for Beverly. When I say there’s no one here named Beverly they launch into a pitch of some kind and I would hang up. So what’s with the Spammer/scammers asking for Beverly?

Just got a call on my cell phone with some guy asking for Luisa.  Told him no Luisa here.  Guy then says "Okay, no message to leave, thanks".  Then hangs up.  Strange.  So what was the point?

Just received a phone call from them at 6:55 pm.  I didn't get to the phone in enough time and they did not leave a message when I called back it was busy.  I have received a lot of phone calls like this ever since I have been taking surveys on the internet.  That is more than likely how they are getting my phone number.  There is another scammer going around claiming that I qualified for a free back brace and claiming that they are from Medi-Cal and wanted to know what medical provider I was with.  They are a scam too.

They just dialed my number back to back.  My blocked caller list just got longer.

Typical mid-morning scam type interruption with no message left.

For those asking why the scammer asks for a name----they're just testing numbers to find ones where people pick up the calls----then they sell lists of numbers where people answered to telemarketers. They're not really looking for Luisa, Mildred or Frank.

Called and asked for Stephen when my machine said hello. Hung up when he realized it was my machine. My first name is Stephen, but no one who knows me calls my by that name. Based on the other comments here, I think its a coincidence that he used my real name.

Received a call to my cell. He said he was from a non profit. The man asked for head of household. Told him, that this is my cell and I was at work. He started this lengthy speech about his campaign to get support for the injured vets. He wants to send me an envelope and asked that I support the vets by returning the envelope.  Then he hung up.

I answered the call and he said "Is Bruce there", first as I answered, over my initial hello. He said it again and I simply replied "no" and it immediately hung up. I called the number back and it was a busy signal. Scam call for sure

Caller ID:  Unavailable.  Any number with Unavailable always gets blocked.

I answered my cell. Man asked for Leland. When I stated no Leland at this number, he mentioned he was from a nonprofit org supporting injured vets and could he send me envelope and rely on my support? I told him I already supported one. He immediately said thank you and hung up. When I tried calling back, line busy. ???

Caller ID says "unknown name".  Left no message

Man identified himself as Paul, wanted money for veterens.

Just got a call from this number , I answered Hello, and they hung up.

Called my cell phone and left no message suspected scammer.

I just got a call from this number. My answering machine picked up and they did not leave a message. When I called back, I got a busy signal. Apparently another scammer.
