ok so i was a lil desperate for a job.... both my friend and i called this person who told me her name was "Amy" while telling my friend her name was "Ashley",  she was very fast at saying go to the website and send your info, Drivers license etc.

so like idiots we did... then i called back and she told me to send $300 while telling my friend $500 as a deposit. WTF....!!!!  my friend sent his money and i waited since i didnt have the cash upfront....  after trying to contact them for almost 3 weeks now, no reply.  they are also using different numbers and ads. but they all say the same SH*T!!!!!!!

She did the same to me,  said her name was Sara I normally stay away from western union type schemes,  but she said i would be going to walmart,  not thinking of anything,  she said she would be giving out her company information there,  i went there like a fool and wired her the money, and never heard from her again,  if you guys have any info or want to contact me brokerandagent[@]yahoo.com we can share information so we can get this [***] caught and return our money.  I already talked to backpage and they said they need a subpoena in order to get her information.  Email me i like to talk to about getting her personal info so we can report her and maybe get our money back!

i ALMOST fell for it! i had the money. but as soon as she said walmart and moneygram all the red lights and warning bells went off.

i tried to call her at the time i was supposed to send her my "deposit" and she didn't answer. all i got was the voicemail.

if anyone is taking them to court etc, i would be more then happy to testify!

almost fell for the scam.thank god i locked my keys im my car.during the time i was trying to get my keys,my cousin was googling her number and found these posts.(i was in the walmart parking lot!) she said her name was sara.

I gave them $300 as well and I am getting the police and FBI involved you all need to do the same thing here is the info. Call your local police station, the FBI in Los Angelos and go to www.IC3.gov and fill a cyber report and give them all the information and websites of other victims. My friend fell for it.  It's some stupid [***] named Amy that scammed him.  I almost fell for it but I cussed that [***] Amy out and called her a scammer.  She got mad and tried to prank call me, but I was using a pay phone.  Hahaha!

And honestly, police and FBI won't do [***] about this.  My roommate is a cop and he said the police department will not waste their time on something like this.  It's just a waste of the city's budget.  They'll just tell you to ignore these Craigslist guys.  If you fell for it, basically it's your own fault.  Just don't do it again.

I was almost scammed.  I drove for a legit escort business before and they didn't require any deposit.  They just want a copy of my driver license and registration and that was it.  As soon as this scam artist skank Amy asked me to make a deposit, I told her to go screw herself and called her a scam.  She got mad and kept calling and I just kept hanging up on her.

All law enforcements, whether they're police or FBI, won't do [***] about it.  I reported it and they basically just told me not to fall for these type of scams again.

I got scammed to. I spoke to a Lieutenant with the FBI and I already have a case # and now I need to go get a Subpoena and go from there. Do not want to give out to much info but things are going people just need to come forward and do the same thing as me go to www.ic3.gov

This scam is not new, it's pretty old! I was almost suckered into it 10 years ago. This scam's history dates back to the mid 1990's. My theory is that it's operated by a small group of scammers who are possibly bouncing around the whole USA with burner phones (untraceable phone) or have put there phones under a false identity. They then put vague ads in the newspaper, Craigslist, offering jobs with unbelievable pay. The scammer who offers you the job is very persuasive and high pressures you to wire a deposit through Western Union or Moneygram. They claim once they receive the deposit, they will call you back within 30 minutes with further instructions on what to do. That gives the scammer enough time to withdraw the money from Western Union or Moneygram, and then the victim is out hundreds of dollars.

This scam works very well for one major reason. Most guys who get suckered in are too embarassed to report this to the law enforcers. The scammer has cleverly set up this scenario. Where he has created this illusion of you working for an illegal escorting agency, so when you do get scammed, he is almost certain you will not run to law enforcers with the simple fear that you could get in trouble for trying to join an illegal business.

Like I said before, this scam is over 15 years old and surprisingly just now people are fighting back. If enough of you email Dateline MSNBC and Chris Hansen, I'm sure they will investigate and catch these guys.  Obviously law enforcers, cops, FBI, won't give a rat's [***] about this because you were trying to be greedy by trying to join an illegal business thinking you'll earn over $1000 a night.
