1. Never answer unless you recognize the number
2. Do not let it go to voicemail. Pick up and put down.
3. Get a phone blocker: Either a Panasonic phone that lets you block 250 numbers or a device that interupts it before it gets to the phone (2500 Blocks)
4. Come here since 99% of the numbers you don't recognize are from criminals.
5. Block them and post here
6. Never respond to an energy reduction scam. They are all con artists collecting your information which they sell to 20-30 solar companies. If you thought you are in telemarketer hell now, just wait until you get bombarded with calls from these scam solar companies.

Having a romantic dinner outside with my hubby and my phone rings from an LA area code. I usually don't answer phones calls whose number I do not recognize but my hubby said, "answer it and see who it is." I wish I could tell you who or why they were calling BUT IT WAS ALL IN SPANISH!!! I called the number back and they answered in a broken English and they quickly hung up as soon as they heard me speak. I tried again and I could no longer get the call answered. Our government is broke and I suggest each fine these people with harsh penalties that goes towards our govt debt until they stop or debt is gone!

They can use all the different numbers they want. One would figure that if they have been calling for the past couple years with zip, they can move on. One more to the block list.

This criminal, like Michael Lopez, Manuel Lujan and Jesus Villa Garcia, has tried to obtain my personal information in order to hack into my bank account sucking out any money available.  I have been fed up with them and with BoA.  These criminals have been so horrible, heinous in their criminal activities that the bank has not  been able to stop them; particularly, Michael Lopez, this criminal has gone beyond the bank's control, even when the account has been suspended and new account established, he managed to get into the suspended account to siphon out what ever left.  I wish this criminal gets a long, long, long time behind the bars.  The FBI has been chasing after his tail.

Having more trouble figuring out if the people on here are more outraged that they got a telemarketing call or that "gasp" it was in Spanish.

Scams are based largely on ignorance and trust, not cognative stupidity.

What better group of people to prey on than people in a country where they don't speak the dominant language.

Meanwhile the rest of you are butt hurt that you had to listen to Spanish for 3 seconds. Heaven forbid.

To those that lament being on the Governments DNC list and getting fecal calls. Do you really trust anything the Government does or says? If you answer yes to either of them, then you have a bright future in Hellamarketing.

Why would an unknown number from inside your own or adjacent area code be any different?

My telephone company is Ooma, they gave you the possibilty to put this numbers on a blacklist. It works, but those companies changing constantly there numbers. I have already over 300 numbers on my blacklist. Check if your telephone company gives you that possibility. It is some extra work but at least you avoid repeated calls

I am working in all I can to put awholes behind bars. What you are doing to us is penalized by law. You have connections whose are protecting your iligal proceeds, but not for ever. Sooner o later the law will catch you. I am a decent citizen and always obey laws.

Go to the Consumers Union (they issue Consumer Reports) and join the fight. Stop these scammers and the phone companies that are also profiting.

I meant to say to go to the Consumers Union website. They are the same folks who publish Consumer Reports. They are pressuring the telephone companies to block these scam calls automatically. The have done this for some smartphone users; they can do the same for land line phones.

Got call around 10am on Fri 4/15/16 I didn't answer, they didn't lv a msg.  So u know it's a solicitation call of some sort.  Since they called my cell without my consent , am now registering this # with FTC mobile cpmplaint line.  Call is from California 323 npa.
