Action Taken: I let the phone ring. The following message was left: "The very second you receive this message, I need you or your retained attorney of record to return your call. This issue at hand is extremely time-sensitive. I am Officer Nikki Johnson from the Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 323-902-6489. I repeat. It's 323-902-6489. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
My guess is that this is a robo-call because of the way that "extremely" was pronounced. It sound like, "ex-tree-emily."
I Googled the phone number and discovered a site similar to 800Notes. Twelve people on that site reported this number in the past three days. I will be reporting this to the Do Not Call registry.
Previous Calls: none. I am not going to block the number right now because I want to see if they are going to call back. If they continue to call, however, I will block the number.

They have been reported to the Do Not Call registry.

Received a similar call from that number - it is a robo call and it is a scam. They want you to call back and they prompt personal information out of you. The IRS does not make such calls

Action Taken: I let the phone ring. I got the exact same message as last time, except it started at "your retained attorney," so I strongly suspect that it is a robe-call.
Previous Calls: This morning at 11:29 A.M. If they call me again, I am going to block them.

Same messages as up above, about it being Nikki and me or my attorney need to call right away. Claimed to be the IRS. Called them back from my house phone with my number block and got a half a ring followed by a busy signal.

IRS scam, said it was Officer Nikki Johnson with IRS wanted me or my attorney of record to call them back.  Don't owe anything to IRS, actually have a credit with them.  Made a report to IRS.gov website.

Similar call. IRS Website says to do the following:

Record the employee's name, badge number, call back number and caller ID if available.
Call 1-800-366-4484 to determine if the caller is an IRS employee with a legitimate need to contact you.

If you suspect fraud, report the incident to TIGTA (Treasury Department) and to us(IRS) at phishing@irs.gov (Subject: 'IRS Phone Scam')

I had the same call today from Niki Johnson number 323-982-8962 was asked to call this number back and no answer,

That it was a matter of urgency that I return a call
To 323-902-6489 . That she was from the internal
Revenue Service .
When I called back there was no answer and no
Recording of the Internal Revenue Service . I called
Again and got a Recorded message that said the
Person that I was Looking for was not available
And to leave a message . The recorded message
Had a English accent . Still no proof that I was
Indeed talking to the Internal Revenue Service .
I hung up and called again this time a man with
A Asian accent answered . I asked what is this ?
He said wait ," Wait for the Sherif ". Then he
Hung up .
Well he was threatening me and so I wanted
To find out what this was about ? I called back
This time he read a fact sheet that I owed
Money , my assets would be frozen , .....
I have never received a letter from the Internal
Revenue service . He asked did I have the
Money in the bank ? I said no and that I was
A transplant patient and needed the ability
To buy medicine .
Then I asked him ....I'm the only name on
My tax return ? He answered yes .
This is not true . I have been so sick
That I haven't worked since 2011 .
It started to feel like a scam .

Similar comments as above.  The IRS doesn't communicate this way so I immediately suspected a scam.  I received two calls today so on the second I called back.  No answer.  Again, not an IRS type interaction.  Good luck.

Received the same call, same message and same # today at 10:24am EST.  This is a scam, they talk about phone scams on the IRS website.

Are you [***]? You think the sherif will call you up out of the blue to collect irs debt without ever getting anything in writing?  Of course its a scam!

I received an automated call today from IRS officer NIKKI Johnson. l spoke with a young lady who told me Nikki would not be at work until 10.00 eastern standard time. I called back to record the conversation but i got no answer.

My elderly mother received a call on her cell phone from Nicki Johnson 323-902-6489. She called me immediately. I tried the number twice and got a busy signal.  I call at 7am in the morning and a lady answered. I asked why they called my mother (no name given) and claimed to be the IRS.  She said "we are the IRS idiot!"  I said oh good, I will report this number and I hung up.

I call them every 15 minutes to break their balls.
now today 5/15/15 all you get is a busy signal

I like to call them back but lately they are blocking call backs. That means they are getting tired of being Punked out for the crooks that they are. If everyone would punk them out soon they would give up, but as long as even 1 in 10000 fall for their sacm they will keep it up. I will keep messing with them each and every time I will keep them on the line as long as possible until they get tired of being called out and they hang up.

Scam

Got this one today. Really sloppy work. We knew it was a scam right away.

1 323-902-6489, this number keeps calling my number with something about Internal Revenues. They ask to call back as soon as possible. But, when you call no one answers.

I am so mad at this Nikki Johnson, I have been calling her every chance I got. She is a very bad person. She will go to hell soon.
