This number called the guy down the street from my x mother in law and tried to get my number?? How did they get his name or number I cant figure out. We dont know him. Then a month later the people that live next to me said someone called looking for me that claimed they went to  school with me. Said his name was James Howard?! Never heard of him and live on the other side of the country! Never been anywhere near Texas! These people are harrassing me by calling strangers for my number. Its very embarassing. What can be done to stop  them?

The last complaint I filed with the FCC cost AT&T $20 Million!!

Question about telephone calls. I keep getting calls from area code 325 by DCS a collection Agency in San Angelo TX.
 I talked with the Mgt. Asked them to stop calling. Today again I get a call talked with the guy asked to speak with management.
   He said I have a right to call anyone. I said to him do you want to prove that point in a court of law. “My Lawyer is hungry can he have you for lunch?”

They have been calling me everyday since Jul 2008!.
 Now today something really STRANGE!!!

  After the callback I get another call unknown phone number. Next on my phone and on the Telephone Records
    The entire Telephone Transaction Log is ERASED!!!!

  Who is powerful enough to get into the Telephone System and erase telephone logs?
    The Government Police or Federal Agencies? AmDocs with the Billing System?
      Gangsters running operations within the Phone Company or the Mossad.?
 
   The guy did this after I reminded him to remove my phone from the list. I told him
     My lawyer would like to have him for lunch. He said “We can do what we want”
      I said “Would you like to challenge this viewpoint in a court of law?”

   He then did something after the phone call to erase the telephone transactions  
     Off of my cell phone and off of the telephone logs of the phone company!!!.

   It is now as if the phone transaction did not occur!!

   Anybody have information on who is this Company DCS out of San Angelo Texas?
    They appear to be a collection agency. Looks like a front for something else with
     Ability to modify telecommunications records.

  The first call will show the actual phone number and then an unknown phone call comes
   Next that erases the entire telephone records!!!

  Another strange event in August took a trip to San Francisco , Drove to Lake Tahoe.
   I get another one of these calls here. I  see a guy near me in a hotel. Talking on the
    Phone said This is the last place the guy is now seen. Someone can come Lake
    Tahoe and then disappear.  Later took a boat trip on the Lake here again DCS from
     San Angelo Texas calls again.  Next day take a hike up to a mountain top again
      DCS calls me again in the middle of the Forest. Seem like the calls are used to
   Track my locations. They claim they are a collection agency looking for some deadbeats.
    At this point I do not buy it!!

last four digits. This is one of the phone numbers that has called me a lot!!

James Howard also called me from this number about someone I know, trying to get their number.  How did he get my number?  I asked if he was with a collection agency and he lied, or at least denied it.... turns out from everything I've read on the internet - they are a collection agency, and a rather reprehensible one at that, employing all kinds of screwed-up, nasty tactics, as money men do so often these days..... do not give these guys the time of day, let alone any other information at all - just tell them they have the wrong number, but that you have theirs and want nothing to do with them and their nasty, predatory business..... hopefully if enough people do this they'll go out of business and we all be the better for it...

I've dealt w/this co. b4 due to a failure to pay & they are a reputible agency trying to get back $ that is owed & if someone called you from this co. it's probably bcuz you knew how to reach the deadbeat....so instead of getting on here & bitching about it why don't you call the deadbeat they called you about & [***] at them....remember it's your tax dollars being blown by people who don't pay back their student loans....

I too have been receiving the same harassing calls up to and including to previous employers.  Current employers is rather tough as I am a Union tradesman and switch employers with every job.  They collect, near exclusively, for the Federal Student Loan programs and state and Federal institutions.  Though they do perform collection services for private entities, the select few are large, typically global, institutions and a large majority have great dealings with Federal jurisdictions.  
Someone here has a hand in a politicians or agencies pocket, this I assure you.
I have filed multiple complaints to the FCC in regards to their actions to no avail.  It will, at some point, boil down to someone paying them a visit.  Any agency believing they have the right to "do what we want" and break the law that is intended to govern their actions, needs a wake-up call, especially in this global financial climate.
Best of luck to everyone here, and if anyone wishes to file a Class Action, sign me up and just reply to this post, we'll arrange contact info at that point.  A Class Action requires a *minimum* of 3 parties filing suit together.. from what I've seen, we would well exceed the required minimum.. just one note, document EVERYTHING! Even if its "Unknown Name : Unknown Number", we would be justified to believe it would be them as I know, at least for me, I never received calls with that CallID until DCS got their slimy hands on my name.

       ...hmm.. I've worked collections previously and currently OWN a Collateral Recovery Service (Repo in short) and that is identical to the form of type used as internal sys note taking on collects.  (aka, you type like a collector..in case you're too thick headed to figure it out).
          Why should -we- go to your collect and b***h them out? why should -we- waste our time doing -YOUR- job? Why are -you- google or Intellius (owned by a Senator) (to name a few) searching friends, family and neighbors to try and contact this account?  Why are -you- blatantly LYING to collects and neighbors/general public, which is against the law and against FCC regs, in an attempt to obtain information on a collect?            If Americans truly had issues with what occurs in the student loan program, down to and including non-pays, we would harass our congressmen and women to find a solution, or push solutions devised by the public.  Who are -you- to play God and decide how to treat, view and handle these people?
      You haven't the first clue, or obviously, haven't a care, as to the circumstances surrounding the issues related to these people or their financial situations.  I know, for myself, if I had a choice of 1)feeding my family or 2) paying DCS/Student loan.. well, if you're too blind to figure it out, I won't waste my breathe.  
    I will admit, it IS the *responsibility of the debtor* to ensure all attempt has been made to pay, however, especially in the current global, financial climate, millions of people are forced to decide between the two options stated above.. and typically, DCS is running contention with several other agencies on unrelated accts. of similar circumstance (yet the other agencies, typically, follow FCC guidelines and federal/state/local collection laws).
    I guarantee you this.. if you perform collection efforts similar to how I perform repossessions,  by treating the individual with respect and understanding, and having a willingness to work with them and their situation BEFORE taking the case to further, more harsh, tactics.. you would get a lot further ahead on your efforts.  As it stands, your argument would not hold a candle to the violations you and you're agency have committed, in the Court of Law, irregardless of WHO you may have in your back pocket.  Try and work with them, then, if all else fails, go for their taxes.. which is something you already do, just don't be suck pricks about it.  Show your professionalism, not the chip on your shoulder / I am better than you attitude.
    Best of luck to everyone here, remember, though they may be the annoying fly you cannot seem to swat.. they can't draw blood from a turnip.  Even if you pay $10 a month, send it Money Order and Certified/signature required mail.  They WILL keep harassing you, though, legally, the most they can do, if you do that, is attach your tax returns.  
   Keep record of everything, keep communications documented, do NOT speak to them over the phone.. if they are willing to break the law in this manner, they will be willing to break the law by typing whatever the agent wants into your permanent notes (which can be submitted into the Court of Law as "Facts".  Keep CERTIFIED copies of everything you mail them, as without the copies, they could say they never received anything.
    Do NOT throw ANYTHING they mail you away.  Irregardless of how menial it may seem.  A little extra effort can go a long way to setting them straight and keeping them in check.

I am up to date on my student loan and they call me. I can only assume that they are trying to scare me into paying them. I called my student loan provider and they told me that they ate not doing business with these people and to either block the number or contact local authority. If it proceeds I may just go down to local JAG office and let them know.
